Chapter 51
“CAN WE TALK, please?” Calix asked, but to his surprise, Alpha Perez forcefully grabbed his collar and shoved him out of the way, causing him to stumble and land on the ground.
“Why are you touching someone else’s wife without permission?” Alpha Perez let out a low, threatening growl, causing Serena to touch his hand and shake her head quickly. She didn’t want him to make a scene, especially seeing Calix’s disheveled appearance which indicated that he hadn’t slept since the party, most likely because he had been searching for Cesare all night.
“Calix, that was respectful… Apologize, now!” Alpha Robert glared down at him, his voice demanding. Calix clenched his jaw, feeling like nothing had been going right for him lately and he was on the verge of losing his mind. Nevertheless, he straightened up and smoothed out his pants, adjusting his tie before meeting their intense stares.
“I’m sorry, Alpha Perez.” He bowed slightly in front of them, “I shouldn’t have touched your wife. Forgive me.”
“So, what’s your deal? You’re not trying to get her back now that you’ve already rejected your second wife, are you?” Alpha Perez’s scoff was dripping with sarcasm, causing Calix to clench his fist in anger. But he managed to keep a cool façade, hiding his frustration and irritation from showing.
The betrayal from last night still stung, and he couldn’t believe he was willing to tolerate Marga’s behavior just because she was pregnant with his child. He had damaged his relationship with Serena by choosing Marga, and his reputation had been tarnished because of their affair. Despite all that, he still took responsibility for her pregnancy because he truly believed she was carrying his child.
Which is why the truth hit him like a physical blow, a sharp slap across the face. The realization that his own brother and second wife had betrayed him was almost too much to bear. It felt like the world was crashing down around him last night, and he struggled to come to terms with the painful reality. Every word Serena had spoken last night still echoing in his mind, each one carrying the weight of his own karma.
“No, I only wanted to apologize to Sere–Luna Serena.” He quickly corrected himself and stole a glance at his ex–wife before turning back to face Alpha Perez. “I’ve made a grave mistake and hurt someone dear to my heart because I was seduced and/ deceived.”
“I was regretting everything so; can I at least have a private time to talk to her and apologize? Promise I won’t do anything? Calix pleaded desperately. He deeply regretted his actions and knew that if he didn’t apologize now, he may never have another chance to do so.
“It was not my decision to make.” Alpha Perez made a simple statement before turning to look at Serena. They shared a glance, and she gave a small smile to signal that she wanted to speak with him alone. He nodded understandingly and placed a kiss on her forehead before glaring at her ex–partner. Then, he turned to face Alpha Robert and Mathias for a private discussion about his request for them to locate Marga on his behalf.
After the three men turned and left, there was a noticeable awkwardness between Calix and Serena. But Calix pushed past it, feeling the warning from Alpha Perez even though they were no longer in close proximity. He cleared his throat and began to speak his mind.
“There’s so much I I wanted to ask, but our time was limited, so ran get straight to the point
He gazed at her and his heart fluttered. She looked healthy and well, which made him feel envious. He couldn’t help but reflect on how their situations had reversed; now he was the one suffering while she was living a happy life that he failed to provide for her because of her stupidity.
“I am truly for all of my actions. I regret the insults, hurtful words, and accusations that I directed towards you under Marga’s manipulative influence.” He added, feeling Alpha Perez eyes glancing at them from time to time. He was bothered by it, but ignored nonetheless, “Marga intentionally seduced me because she wanted to claim all that belonged to you, believing it was rightfully hers.”
“I should have believed you when you said she was a white lotus because by the time I realized her true color, it was already

too late.” Calix let out a heavy sigh, his mind replaying all the mistakes and poor choices he had made in his life..

However, no matter how much he dwelt on them or blamed himself, he knew that nothing would change. He, Marga, and her mother had already faced the consequences for all the wrongs they had done to Serena. All he could do was accept the reality that he messed up badly and his life would never be the same again.
“I won’t beg for your forgiveness, as I know I don’t deserve it. However, I want you to know that I am genuinely happy for you, and I hope that your second chance mate will not betray you as I did.” Calix gazed at his hands, fidgeting with his fingers anxiously because Serena wasn’t saying anything and just stare at him, it was as if she was making sure he was sincere with his words.
He just took a deep breath and was preparing to speak when Alpha Perez suddenly appeared by Serena’s side, his arms wrapped around her waist possessively.
“There’s no need to hope for something like that because I would never betray my wife. I have too much integrity for that kind of behavior.” He stated, then turned to look at Serena, who smiled back at him. “We’re running out of time; we need to return to the hotel before noon.”
“All right,” She acknowledged with a nod before shifting her attention back to Calix, who stayed standing in front of them. “You’re right, you don’t deserve my forgiveness, none of you do except for my father.”
“However, for my own peace of mind and for me to be able to let go of the past completely, I chose to forgive you.” Calix was taken aback by her words; for a moment, he thought he had misheard her. He

“But keep it in mind, I may have forgiven you, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I am willing to rebuild our relationship and be friends,” she concluded. A gentle smile spread across her face causing Calix to feel a tightness in his chest. He then swallowed hard as she turned her back, and Alpha Perez opened the door for her. Before getting into the car, she turned to look at him once more.
“I pray that this will be the final encounter between us, goodbye Calix watched as Serena got into the car and drove away, leaving him standing there like a pathetic dog being abandoned by his owner.
He felt a mix of emotions–relief that she had forgiven him, guilt for what he had done to her, and sadness that their relationship had really ended.
He stood there, lost in his thoughts for a while until he heard footsteps approaching. It was Alpha Robert, coming towards him. Calix may have played a role in the downfall of his family, but now that he knows the truth and who was truly responsible for it all, he couldn’t help but feel sympathetic towards him. After all, they were both victims of their deceitful wives and had taken on the responsibility for children that weren’t even theirs.
Fortunately, Calix was almost three des

“I’m offering you a choice. You can either stay with my pack, where you will assist me in restoring its good name by showing remorse and good deeds, or return to your own pack and isolate yourself from society.” His lips curved upwards into a faint smile as Alpha Robert extended an offer. After discovering the truth last night, there was no chance he would want to return to his family’s pack, especially since Cesare was set to become their new leader.
Besides, it was likely that their parents were deeply disappointed in Calix after all of the recent controversies he had been tangled up in. His actions had caused a lot of trouble, and he was well aware that he didn’t deserve another chance. However, he also didn’t want to waste this opportunity.
“I want to remain here, Alpha Robert. I am aware of my past actions, and I sincerely apologize for them. This chance you had given me was not one I would take lightly so; I promised to do everything in my power to help restore the pack’s reputation in any way possible.”
