“ARE YOU OKAY? Still got a lot on your mind?” Alpha Perez asked as he and Serena strolled through the park, taking advantage of the beautiful weather during their date. They had finished visiting a neighboring territory and decided to relax before heading to another one later on.
“I’m feeling much better now. The thoughts that had been weighing me down have finally disappeared,” she answered, recalling the events of the previous evening. After a relaxing bath and finishing a bottle of wine, the mood between them became more intimate, leading to making love in the bathroom before retiring to bed where she quickly fell asleep.
This morning when she woke up, she felt more rejuvenated than ever before. And today, her mood was sunny, and she hoped the rest of the day would be just as cheerful and full of smiles.
“That’s good to know. Oh, and by the way, Jarren called me earlier to let me know that Mathias was already at our house.” Alpha Perez took her hand and intertwined their fingers before walking, causing Serena to look at him.
“I’m glad, I’m sure he’ll be safe there.” she let out sigh, fearing that the warriors of her mother would capture Mathias before he could be taken under their wing. However, knowing it didn’t happen brought her relief.
With that, they continued to chat about various subjects and partake in enjoyable activities that couples often do on dates, such as indulging in decadent meals that made their mouths water. They also snapped some photos together in a studio they passed by and relished in each other’s company.
They then took a break before entering the forest that would lead them to the border of another territory they would visit today. However, their fun ended quickly when two large rogues in their wolf form appeared on their path, their fur bristling and fangs bared. Thick drool dripped from their snarling mouths, a clear indication that they were under some sort of possession or madness
“Why are they like that?” Serena asked, looking at how their eyes were glaring at them, obviously, they had found prey. This wasn’t her first encounter with rogue beings, so she wasn’t afraid. Plus, she was with Perez, whom she trusted to protect them. However, she couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was off about these rogues.
Although rogues were typically characterized as aggressive, these two displayed a different type of aggression.
“They were infected with the virus,” he responded, causing her to widen her eyes in surprise. This was the first time she had heard of werewolves like them catching a virus. “I had heard news of it going around, but I hadn’t realized it had already spread to the northern region.”
“Just stay here, I’ll handle them. These rogues were no ordinary threat, they were much more dangerous. If their saliva got into your system, it could infect you with the virus.”
Alpha Perez gently guided her behind him, his strong hand firmly placed on the small of her back. Serena wanted to help. but she knew better than to insist and waste his precious time arguing. Instead, she simply nodded, her eyes widening in awe as she watched him shift into his wolf form.
The transformation was both majestic and terrifying, his body expanding and contorting until he stood before her in all his massive wolf. His sleek fur gleamed a deep jet black, making him appear intimidating and dangerous. His low growl sent a shiver down her spine,
especially when his piercing golden gaze met hers as he turned and nuzzled against her. Then, he fixed his attention on the rogues who were undeterred by his warning growl.
“Wow,” Serena couldn’t help but muttered despite the dire situation they were in. However, when she heard the battle of growls, she snapped out of her daze and took a step back as the two rogues lunged forward, their ferocity and speed causing
her worry.
As the two bloodthirsty rogues lunged forward, Serena’s heart pounded in her chest. Their eyes glinted with a savage hunger for death, sending shivers down her spine. But Alpha Perez, in his larger–than–life wolf form, showed no fear or hesitation. With a ferocious growl that echoed through the forest, he pounced on the nearest rogue and crushed its neck between his

powerful jaws before it could even react. Then, his eyes turned towards the other who charged straight for Serena with malicious intent.
Alpha Perez’s wolf fought with all its might to stop the rogue, but the rogue he was pinning down was too quick and managed to break free. Despite the blood dripping from its neck, it lunged towards Alpha Perez for another attack.
Meanwhile, Serena felt fear creeping in as she watched the scene unfold. She couldn’t shift into her wolf form, and she didn’t have any weapons on hand to defend herself. She swallowed hard as the other rogue got closer, realizing that she needed to take action. After all, she refused to be a helpless bystander in this situation.
With determination fueling her every move, she kept a steady gaze on the rogue as she slowly backed away. As it lunged towards her, she swiftly leaped and rolled on the ground before regaining her balance, watching as the rogue crashed into the tree behind her earlier, whimpering in pain. Before it could recover, Alpha Perez pounced on top of it and tore at its neck, causing her to look away just in time to see the other rogue lying dead with blood spattered everywhere.
She hadn’t seen it before as he always took the forefront during battles, but his ruthlessness and lack of mercy when it came to killing enemies was now clear. He had no qualms about taking a life and showed no hesitation in doing so. It was amazing, and at the same time, dangerous.
“Huh?! Perez!” Serena let out a loud shout as two more rogues made their appearance. They were noticeably larger, and both were clearly Alpha, unlike the first two they had encountered earlier. She immediately stood up and positioned herself behind Perez, who emitted a fierce growl while positioning himself in front of her as protection.
“Don’t worry, I can handle them,” He communicated through the mind link, and within a few seconds, the remaining Alpha Rogues launched their attack. Despite Perez’s attempts to intimidate them with his alpha aura, they continued their relentless assault. He knew the virus had driven them completely insane, but he never imagined it would be this severe.
With a fierce growl, he raised his head and let out a bone–chilling howl, ensuring that the pack they were about to visit would know about his presence. As the sound reverberated through the air, Serena couldn’t help but swallow hard, chill running down her spine. But she quickly composed herself and scouted the area, her keen eyes scanning for any weapons or objects that she could use to help her husband.
Spotting a large boulder nearby, she unleashed her impressive strength and hurled it toward an approaching rogue who had set his sights on Perez who was busy fighting. The impact was enough to knock the enemy off course, giving Perez an opening to strike back and snap its neck just like he did to the others.
After taking a deep breath, Serena sat down on the ground, feeling relieved as she looked around to make sure they were out of harm’s way.
“Are you okay?” Serena’s attention snapped back to Alpha Perez as his voice resonated through their mind link. She then watched as he approached her, still in his powerful wolf form. Being on the ground, she couldn’t help but feel small compared to his massive size.
“I’m fine, how about you?” She reached out to touch the top of his head, not bothered by the blood on its mouth. Instead of showing fear or disgust, her face displayed worry, which relieved Alpha Perez. After all, he was concerned that Serena would be frightened by him after witnessing him mercilessly killing the rogues. “Won’t you catch the virus?”
“No, I won’t don’t worry.” he replied, nuzzling on her touch, “Hop on my back, and I’ll give you a ride all the way to the packhouse we’re headed to.”
