THE SOUND of a door opening snapped Marga out of her daze. She instinctively turned her head, hoping to see her mother, but instead found herself locking eyes with Serena. A chill ran down her spine at the sight of her sister’s cold gaze, causing a sudden wave of nerves to bubble up inside of her when she knew she shouldn’t be feeling any.
Marga was unsure why her sister had come to visit, but she saw as a potential opportunity. Perhaps this was her chance to save her reputation and make Serena look like the villain instead of her, who was having an affair with her husband.
“S-Serena,” Marga linally spoke, purposely making herself stammered to make it look like she was ashamed and guilty. “What are you doing here? I wasn’t supposeil to have any visit-
“Why don’t you drop the act now? We’re the ones here, white lotus” Serena made her way over to the sofa where Marga was seated. It was evident from the empty plates on the table that she had finished her meal.
Despite being punished, she seemed to be living a comfortable life, but that didn’t surprise Serena.
“Did you really just call me white lotus? I know I messed up but using that term to refer to your own sister is harsh.” Marga stood up, her expression twisted with false disappointment. However, Serena could no longer believe in Marga’s apparent innocence because she was indeed a white lotus; she looked harmless and pure, but she was actually corrupt and cunning beyond belief.
“Harsh? Don’t make me laugh. Let’s cut the small talk. I’m just here to let you know that everyone in the pack already knew you were carrying my ex–husband’s child.” Serena said as she seated herself comfortably on the sofa facing her. The way she folded her arms across her chest showed that she was no longer willing to back down and was standing her ground,
refusing to bend before anyone else. “You really think I would stay silent about this issue? Well, hell no
“What?” Marga’s heart raced, and her eyes went wide with realization. Now she understood why the maid had given her a strange look earlier, but more than that.. “Did you just say ex–husband
“I filed fr
filed for divorce,” Serena smiled as if trying to show how she doesn’t give a damn anymore. Currently, the papers were now in the possession of her lawyer, who had been waiting for her earlier. As soon as she handed over the documents, she returned to the annex to confront Marga. After all, she needed to understand why her own sister was treating her as if she had done something wrong
“Since it seems like you want to take everything from me, you can have my mate too. I mean, we wouldn’t want the future Luna of this pack to have a child out of wedlock, would we?” she added which made Marga scoff as she sat down, finally dropping the act as it looked like there was no point in deceiving Serena anymore because she had already caught on to everything.
“Oh, how considerate of you. Thank you… But what do you mean take everything away from you?” Marga’s tone was dripping with sarcasm, causing Serena to give her a cold stare in return. “You can’t say anything was taken from you because it all belonged to me to begin with. I’m simply reclaiming what is rightfully mine.”
The room was filled with a tense silence as the two women locked eyes. At that moment, Serena finally realized why Marga held such disdain for her; all this time her sister believed that she had taken the life that should have been hers in the past.
“Wow, you must have a screw loose. I can’t believe I used to think we could be close. Seeing your lack of intelligence, I’m relieved that I didn’t waste any more time trying to form a bond with you, Serena’s words caused Marga’s eyebrows to shoot up as her jaws started to clench together. She despised how arrogant her sister sounded, and being called stupid was incredibly insulting.
“Well, let’s hypothetically say that everything I possess should have been yours, would that also mean my fated mate belongs
you? Of course not, you are simply a selfish person who felt threatened by your own sibling.” Serena spat out, and if looks could kill, Marga would be dust by now.
“I empathize with your struggles growing up in the slums, but my life here was no different. Despite living in a spacious home, having access to regular meals, and receiving a proper education, I was never treated equally. From a young age. I

faced neglect and abuse, both physically and emotionally.” She added, attempting to keep her composure as she recounted all the painful memories from her childhood that haunted her like a never–ending curse.
“I never had a say in being born, yet both you and our parents stemmed to blame me for everything Was it my fault that you got lost when you were younger? And was it my fault that our parents chose to have another child?”
The words from Serena stung like a flame in her veins. Although she maintained a composed exterior while speaking, inside she was burning with fury. It was unfair–being treated as if she had committed some unforgivable crime when she was truly innocent.
“So? Was that supposed to make me feel bad for you?” Marga chuckled softly as she leaned forward in her chair, sneaking a glance at the fork resting on an empty plate. Then, her eyes returned to her sister, who was giving her a disapproving frown.
Serena couldn’t understand how her sister could still be so terrible after hearing that fact. She used to think Marga’s troubled childhood was to blame for her twisted attitude and behavior, but now it seemed that she was just naturally evil and spiteful
“Well now that I thought about it, I may feel a twinge of sympathy for you.” Marga reached for the fork and lightly brushed her fingers against it with a smile on her face, “Even more so once you leave this room and become what you’re destined to be.”
“What?” Serena’s frown deepened, but her expression quickly shifted to shock as she watched Marga’s next move. Before Serena could react, Marga raised her hand, fork still in grasp, and plunged it into her own forearm with a cry of anguish. The metallic scent of blood filled the air as Marga’s face contorted in pain, her screams echoing through the annex.
“A–are you crazy-
“What’s going on?” the warrior standing guard outside asked as he entered the room with urgency, his eyes widening as he saw the tears streaming down Marga’s face as she held her arm, blood dripping from the fork still embedded in her flesh- Serena was taken aback, realizing exactly what her sister was about to say.
I to kill me!”
“S–save me, Serena. She tried to
