Chapter 11
EVEN AFTER a few days had passed, Marga and Calix remained confined in separate rooms at the annex. They were not allowed to leave without permission, and only the maid who brought them their necessities and the guards stationed outside their doors could speak to them.
Though the punishment wasn’t severe, Marga couldn’t imagine her father being able to keep her confined for too long. To make matters worse, neither of her parents came to visit her, causing her to worry that they may have abandoned her because she had brought shame on the pack.
“Can’t you really tell me what was happening outside?” she asked looking at the maid who was setting the table. The omega maid looked back at her with a guarded expression and shook her head, causing Marga to furrow her brow, “Why are you looking at me like that? Do you know something?”
“No, miss.” The maid nervously shook her head and quickly left the room after setting the food on the table, leaving Marga alone with her racing thoughts. No matter how she tried to rationalize it, the maid must have known something–maybe about her pregnancy or her affair with Calix, was now out in the open.
“No, it can’t be… I have to ruin Serena’s reputation before she ruins mine,” She muttered under her breath, fearing that everyone would take her sister’s side and put her status as heiress at risk. At that moment, she regretted revealing her pregnancy to Serena; she should have kept it a secret for longer. But it’s too late to change anything now.
All she could do was bade her time and wait for the perfect moment to execute her plan and get Serena kicked out of the pack for good.
Meanwhile, the person she desperately wanted to get rid of was headed toward Calix’s confinement with a signed divorce paper in hand. Alpha Robert had strictly forbidden any visitors to their room, but Serena was able to persuade him by threatening to bring down the entire pack if they stood in her way. After all, she had revealed that she confided in someone outside of their pack about the mistreatment she had been enduring from her family and those around her.
At first, Alpha Robert was skeptical of her claims, thinking she was simply telling tall tales. But when he saw the honesty in her eyes, he eventually relented and began to wonder about the person she claimed to have spoken to
“Ma’am Serena—
“Open the door,” She abruptly interrupted the warrior standing guard, causing him to jump in surprise.
“Alpha Robert forb-”
“I have his permission, open the door.” Serena’s stern voice cut through the air, causing a chill to run down the warrior’s spine. He couldn’t help but notice the striking similarities between her and the Alpha, from their strong features to the commanding presence they both exuded.
As she approached, he felt compelled to open the door for her. She then strode past him with an intimidating aura that immediately commanded respect and entered the room. Without wasting a moment, Serena marched up to Calix and forcefully shoved a paper into his face, her fiery gaze burning into his soul.
“You!” he gritted his teeth, remembering the day when he had almost died.
“Did you have a good time? The pain you experienced that day doesn’t compare to what I went through when you kept fucking Marga.” Serena’s sneer widened as she took pleasure in Calix’s miserable expression. It wasn’t enough for her, though; she wanted to see him suffer even more.
“I didn’t you were capable of being a whore.” He balled up his hand into a tight fist, but Serena only chuckled at how audacious he could be.
“Whore? You’re the only whore inside this room, Calix. You had an affair with your sister–in–law and even got her pregnant. Honestly, I have all the capabilities to spread the word out, so if you still care about your image, fucking sign the divorce papers.” Serena pulled the ballpen from her pocket and launched it towards Calix’s face, causing his eyes to widen in

surprise. He looked down at the scattered papers on the floor, trying to make sense of the situation, but Serena was already speaking again.
“1. Serena Montevar of Crescent pack, rejected you as my mate, Calix Lauver,” she added, her words were firm, and her cold gaze held Calix in place. He felt a mix of emotions hearing then his heart pounding, his wolf cursing and blaming him for the current situation while his mind stayed blank. It was as if he had been torn apart and thrown into another reality, forced to relive all the happy moments and memories he shared with Serena.
“Accept it or forget about being the next Alpha of this pack.” she crossed her arms over her chest and glared at him, “You only married me because I was the heiress of this pack, didn’t you? If being an Alpha is so important to you, then why don’t you divorce me and marry Marga instead?”
Confusion washed over Calix’s face as he struggled to make sense of the situation. He loved Marga, but now hearing that Serena wanted a divorce and to reject him left his mind and hear shattered. He couldn’t even distinguish his own emotions anymore he was completely lost and disoriented.
Serena let out a frustrated sigh, noticing that he seemed reluctant to sign the papers. He hadn’t hesitated to cheat on her, so why should he suddenly show any remorse now?
“You really think I would stay married to you after what you did buh?” she stepped forward, picking up the papers and ballpen before pushing it towards Calix’s chest. Their eyes locked, and his heart skipped a beat as he saw the lifelessness in her once bright blue gaze… He attempted to open his mouth and say something, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t produce any sound, leaving him gaping like a fish out of water.
“Why would I stay when I don’t love you anymore?” The words that escaped her mouth were like a knife to Calix’s heart, but he remained rooted in place, unable to respond. “Honestly, I was grateful that my experiences during the war had numbed me to the point where I could forget my feelings for you.”
“I don’t want any drama in my life. If you want Marga, go ahead and have her,” she said without hesitation, surprising Calix more than he could’ve imagined. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing–he should be relieved that she was already taking steps to initiate their divorce, just like he had been planning to. But now that it was actually happening, he wasn’t sure how he felt about it.
Who… Who was with you that day?” he finally managed to choke out. He couldn’t explain why he was curious, but he needed to know who Serena had mated with. After all, she was the last person he would expect to sleep with someone other than her fated mate.
“He’s an Alpha from the north” She admitted, thinking about Perez and whether he had already gone back to his territory since they hadn’t exchanged contact information “He’s incredibly skilled in bed, to the point where I almost forgot you exist. He’s handsome, attractive, kind, intelligent, and physically strong. And he’s much larger than you are, size–wise.”
Serena couldn’t help but smirk as she watched Calix clench his jaw in frustration. His normally proud face turned red with гаде.
unable to understand how someone as seemingly kind and innocent as Serena could be so cruel and malicious.
“You’re one of the reasons I turned into this.” Serena said, knowing what was going on inside his head, “Now don’t waste my time, you’ve already ruined me and this relationship enough. Just sign the papers and accept my rejection. Or are you expecting a formal ceremony where I invite the entire pack to witness how I reject a shameless cheater like you?”
Calix let out a low growl of anger, but he quickly snatched Serena’s papers and pen. He wanted to show her that she was no longer worth keeping around. So, with a shaky hand, he signed the divorce papers and fossed them back at her with a look of pride on his face.
“For all I know, this was just your way of getting revenge on me. I’m actually relieved that you’ll no longer be a part of my life. I’d rather be with Marga than someone who was never accepted by their own family” Calix attempted to lash out with his words, but Serena remained unfazed. After all, she had already become numb.
“Oh yeah?” She scoffed and picked up the papers, then straightened her posture as she looked at him, “Well, that’s good to hear because I’d rather be with a competent Alpha rather than someone who can’t even control his urges.”
You-“Calix suppressed his anger and simply took a deep breath before concluding the matter. He thought, there was no

As those words were uttered, a wave of agony washed over both of them…. Yet Serena fought to stay composed, striding out of the room without even a glance at Calix. She stumbled slightly as she shut the door, but the guard standing outside caught her before she fell
At that moment, all she could feel was the pain of severing their bond, and she was grateful that she hadn’t shed a single tear.
