“Peace be with you.” Once everyone had gathered, Zen Master finally stepped forward, pressed his palms together, and addressed Emmanuel with a respectful nod. “Mr. Lowe, I apologize for taking up your time, but Theron was murdered last night. Now, rumors are spreading that you were the one who killed him. I must get to the bottom of this.”
Emmanuel swept his gaze around the crowd, then chuckled. “If someone wants to frame me, they’ll always find a way. Everyone in Chapel of Oros already wants me dead–what’s a few more fabricated charges?”
He had no intention of justifying himself. A true warrior didn’t need to explain.
But before he could say anything else, Mackenzie stepped forward next to him. Her tone was crisp and unyielding. “Zen Master, who exactly is accusing my husband of killing Master Theron? I’d like them to present their proof.”
Mackenzie was no ordinary woman–she was a powerful CEO, well–versed in handling underhanded accusations. She knew better than to fall into the enemy’s trap.
When one was falsely accused, the worst mistake was scrambling to prove their innocence. That would only make them seem guilty. It would give the opposition room to twist their words, to muddy the waters, to make sure that—whether it was mud or filth–they would end up covered in it just the same.
Now that she had thrown the challenge back at them, no one dared to step forward.
Gautier had, of course, prepared for this moment–but only under the assumption that Emmanuel would be on his last legs, bleeding out on the ground. He had planned to hit him with a flurry of accusations and have him torn to pieces.
But now? Emmanuel was standing tall, exuding an unshaken aura of dominance.
To
step forward now would be suicide. Instead of speaking, Gautier did his best to blend into the crowd, desperately searching for an escape route.
But with an injured leg, running wouldn’t be easy. Cold sweat trickled down his back as he racked his brains for a way out.
“Alright, then. Peace be with you.”
With no one daring to step forward and accuse Emmanuel, Zen Master had no choice but to have Master Theron’s corpse brought forth. He gestured toward the dead body, drawing attention to the fatal wound.
He explained, “Mr. Lowe, Theron was killed by a single strike–someone with immense internal strength and a palm technique of extraordinary power. What’s more, the murderer was able to infiltrate the library in the dead of night, completely undetected. I have seen many things in my lifetime, and I can tell you- very few people in this world possess such skills. That makes you a prime suspect.”
Unlike the schemers around them, Zen Master had no fear of death. As a Franciscan friar, He spoke only what he believed to be the truth.

“Of course there are cameras,” Xarri suddenly interjected, grinning. “I just took a stroll through the library and saw them hidden all over the place. Why waste time arguing? Just pull up the footage, and the truth will reveal itself.”

Emmanuel struck. With a single Reverse Dragon Palm, he sent a surge of explosive force crashing into the marble beside Gwain, shattering it into dust and rubble.
