“Mr. Xarri, catch this!” Quell tossed her soft sword to Xarri.
Despite being in a precarious situation, he somehow managed to execute Dragon’s Flight, maneuvering his way to the sword just in time.
The crowd was stunned.
However, Gwain was ecstatic. He had deliberately left an opening, luring Xarri into reaching for the sword- only to trap him. As long as he kept Xarri in the air, no amount of agility would help him evade the incoming strikes!
Chiara saw through Gwain’s plan as well. The moment he executed Leaves in the Wind, it would seal off all of Xarri’s escape routes. This time, there was no doubt–Xarri was doomed.
And yet, the unthinkable happened.
Xarri had already anticipated Gwain’s intentions. Instead of dodging or blocking, he struck first with Celestial Descent, aiming straight for Gwain’s wrist. If he couldn’t evade or parry the attack, then he would force his opponent to withdraw!
“What?!”
Gasps erupted from the crowd.
Wyatt’s eyes widened in disbelief. Xarri had mastered one of the Lannister family’s most advanced sword techniques?
Even he hadn’t grasped it yet! How could Xarri, who had been exiled from the Lannister family at such a young age, possibly know this sword technique?!
Gwain’s face twisted in shock, as if he had seen a ghost.
He had trained tirelessly to master Celestial Descent, yet Xarri’s execution was ten times smoother than his own. Not only that, but Xarri’s timing was impeccable–a feat far more difficult than merely knowing the technique!
“Heh.” Chiara couldn’t help but smile, admiration flashing in her eyes.
There were levels to talent, and Xarri’s was clearly several notches above Gwain’s. The difference in their ability to wield the same technique in battle spoke volumes!

Gwain had no choice but to withdraw his strike. Whether or not he could injure Xarri was uncertain, but one thing was clear–his own wrist would have been severed!
And then, an even more astonishing sight unfolded.
Even after Gwain retracted his attack, Xarri used the tip of his sword to skim the water’s surface, redirecting his momentum in midair to launch another assault. Not only that, but his final strike seamlessly transformed into twelve different variations in an instant!

The entire Lannister family was stunned speechless. They knew for a fact that even Eric could only manage ten variations of that move at most. And yet, Xarri had exceeded that?! Was his power of understanding truly above Eric’s?!
“Ahh!”
A sharp slash cut across Gwain’s arm, sending his sword clattering to the ground.
Xarri didn’t press the attack. But Gwain, thinking he was about to be finished off, lashed out recklessly, unleashing a desperate palm strike with Dragon Tome. Needless to say, it struck nothing but air.

Xarri flicked his soft sword aside, sending it spinning effortlessly back into Quell’s scabbard–graceful and precise, as if it had a will of its own.
“Well fought, Gwain.” Xarri clasped his hands in a polite salute, his face unreadable.
Wyatt and the others exchanged bewildered looks, unable to believe what had just happened. Gwain- beaten one–sidedly?
Chiara was just as shocked.
In terms of raw strength, Gwain was still superior. But in a real fight? This was a complete disaster! It was the classic case of a student who studied diligently every day, only to be outperformed by someone who barely skimmed the textbook.
Quell, however, had expected this outcome.
She knew better than anyone–Xarri’s martial arts talent was unmatched, towering above everyone else’s in the world. Even Emmanuel might not be his equal. Only fools would measure a martial artist’s strength by the intensity of their internal strength!
Still, she didn’t deny that Gwain had a remarkable talent. Unfortunately for him, in front of Xarri, he could only lament, Why must fate curse me with such a rival?
“Well fought? Who said I accepted defeat? Who said this was over?” Gwain was livid–his shame and fury drowning out all reason. “I’ll kill you!”

Just then, Master Dhyana arrived with a procession of Franciscan friars in tow.
The sight of Gwain in such a disgraceful state made Master Dhyana’s heart jolt. He knew full well how powerful Gwain was. Had he actually lost–to Xarri?
His gaze flicked to Xarri, filled with disbelief and newfound respect. Truly, new waves push out the old. A new era of talent has arrived!
6 But there was no time to dwell on it. In a commanding voice, Master Dhyana declared, “Gwain, since you’re here, come with us to the mountain peak for questioning!”
Gwain, still disoriented and battered, barely managed to stand with Wyatt’s help. He said nothing.
Instead, Clive narrowed his eyes and asked, “Questioning about what?”
“You’ll find out when you get there.” Master Dhyana had no patience for explanations. His tone made it clear -it wasn’t a request.
Under normal circumstances, Gwain would have scoffed, turned on his heel, and dared anyone to s him. But now? With Xarri standing right there and Master Dhyana leading a whole contingent of fighters wasn’t about to make a scene. That would only make him look guilty.
Suppressing his anger, he let out a snort and followed them back to the mountain peak.
