“Hehe, still thinking of this woman, Emmanuel Aora clutched Ashton’s neck, a sinister grin spreading across his face. “Break one of your legs, and I’ll let her go. How about that?”
“Emmanuel, don’t!” Though weak and barely holding on, Ashton clenched her teeth and shouted with all her strength. “Don’t bother with me! I’m nothing to you!”
“Ashton!” Nathan bit his lip at Ashton’s words, closing his eyes as tears threatened to fall. He had always thought that a woman’s allure lay in her figure and looks, but now he understood–the courage and loyalty within were what truly captivated a man.
Beatrix and the others had also reached the mountaintop just in time to witness the scene.
To be honest, Beatrix had never been particularly fond of Ashton, Yet, at that moment, she couldn’t help but admire the woman’s character–though her personality might not be the most pleasant, she was undeniably someone worthy of respect.
Emmanuel remained silent, his tiger–like eyes locked onto Aora, their depths unreadable.
“Hehe, Emmanuel, I’ll count to three. If you don’t follow my instructions, I’ll snap this woman’s neck!” Aora sneered, his voice thick with menace. “She must be important to both you and your disciple, right? If she dies, it’ll break your hearts.
“Coward!” Beatrix, having retreated behind Ethan and her sister, finally mustered the courage to point at Aora and scold him coldly. “If you want to kill my brother–in–law, then fight him fair and square! Using a woman as a hostage–what kind of man does that make you?*
“Yeah!” Nathan chimed in, using the same tactic to provoke Aora. “Let Ashton go if you’ve got the guts! My master can still crush you with one hand! Weren’t you acting all high and mighty before coming up here? Didn’t you

“Hehe…” Aora couldn’t care less about their insults or how others judged him. His only goal was to kill Emmanuel and avenge Teddy. Without hesitation, he began to count. “Three! Two-”
But before the final number left his lips, Emmanuel suddenly spun on his heel, his hands forming twin dragon claws.
Aora’s eyes widened as a fierce gust of wind swept around him, locking him in place.
In the next instant, a dragon’s roar echoed through the air.
Emmanuel roared as he unleashed his newly refined technique–the Blazing Dragon Grip, enveloping Aora in a torrent of violent, razor–sharp energy.
Aora’s expression twisted in shock. Never in his wildest dreams had he imagined Emmanuel’s martial prowess had advanced to such an astonishing level–far beyond anything he could comprehend.
It was even more terrifying than Rhett when he unleashed the Gates of Life and Death.
Fortunately, having trained in Dragon’s Reversal Mastery and holding a hostage, Aora wasn’t entirely out of options. He swiftly pulled Ashton in front of himself as a human shield.
No matter how skilled Emmanuel was, unless he was willing to kill Ashton along with Aora, there was no way he could attack. Or so Aora thought–until he realized how foolish he was.

With a wave of Emmanuel’s dragon–clawed hand, the invisible force of his energy slashed through the air, severing Aora’s fingers without even making contact.
Panic–stricken, Aora tried to leap back, but at that split–second moment, another thunderous dragon roar crupted.
A powerful suction force pulled Ashton from Aora’s grasp as if she were a wingless angel soaring toward Emmanuel.
“No! Impossible! Absolutely impossible!” Gwain’s mind exploded as if struck by lightning, refusing to accept what he had just witnessed.
Wyatt, Clive, and the others stood frozen as though their souls had been ripped from their bodies, unable even to blink. Even the martial arts masters of the Chapel of Oros stood stunned.
The more skilled one was in martial arts, the more one would understand how incredibly difficult Emmanuel’s technique was to execute.
For most fighters, projecting internal strength was as difficult as an elementary school student solving advanced mathematics. Yet, Emmanuel’s technique not only allowed him to control his energy at will but also released a force far surpassing the internal strength of those present.
Naturally, none could accept such a brutal reality, and they couldn’t help wondering if they were truly characters in the same story as Emmanuel.
Even Yorick’s expression became remarkably animated. His entire body trembled with inexplicable excitement, his lips curving into an involuntary smile. Was it fear–or exhilaration?
“Wow! Emmanuel is so cool! He’s the coolest! As expected of the man my sister married!” Beatrix jumped like Chun–Li, unable to contain her excitement after witnessing how effortlessly Emmanuel had rescued Ashton.
Angela felt the same. Her eyes, locked onto Emmanuel, practically turned into heart shapes.
Her infatuation ran even deeper than Beatrix’s, but her more reserved nature kept her from outwardly expressing it. Tears of excitement welled in her eyes as she recalled the night Emmanuel had saved her from the assassins.
It was only the ultimate romance every woman longed for, no?
If even they felt this way, then Ashton’s emotions were only beyond description.
Her mind went blank, and if not for the last shred of rationality holding her back, she would have planted a kiss on Emmanuel right then and there–and one kiss wouldn’t have been enough.
Of course, Emmanuel didn’t give her the chance. Before she could steady herself, he pushed her toward Nathan and ordered, “Nathan, get Ashton to a safe area!”
“Yes, Master! Consider it done!” Nathan, equally exhilarated, felt his blood boil with excitement. Clutching Ashton tightly, he retreated with her as if eager to announce to the world that this incredible man was his
master.
“D*mn it! Attack him together! Kill that demon!” ‘Aora, having barely regained his footing, roared in fury.
It was sheer and utter humiliation.

His desire to kill Emmanuel was no less intense than Aora’s. Yet, he was more clear–headed–Emmanuel might be even harder to defeat than Yorick. Their only chance of success was to attack together.
Countless people wanted Emmanuel dead. They were ready to charge as one–but no one wanted to lead the charge.
They were all elite warriors, educated and intelligent. And every single one of them understood that whoever rushed in first would likely be reporting to the King of Hell in the blink of an eye.
Each waited for someone else to make the first move, hoping to seize the opportunity once Emmanuel was weakened. Thus, a comical scene unfolded.
Hundreds of fighters bared their teeth and brandished their weapons at Emmanuel as if ready to tear him apart. Yet, the moment their eyes met his, they scrambled backward in fear. Some even cursed aloud, “Who the hell is pushing me? Don’t shove! If you’re so eager, go ahead and charge first!”
But no one dared.
Emmanuel let out a cold laugh. “You pathetic rabble actually dare to say you’ll kill me? What an insult! This has to be the greatest humiliation of my life!”
Urgh!
Some in the crowd were livid.
Can you be serious for a second? We’re not trying to humiliate you–we’re trying to kill you and avenge our loved ones! Right now, you’re the one humiliating us!
“Mr. Gwain! It’s time for you to lead the charge!”
In this critical moment, Gautier, thoroughly disappointed with the cowardice of these so–called warriors, could no longer rely on them.
