Yorick’s eyes slowly opened.
A powerful, almost suffocating energy rippled from him like a crashing wave.
Kellan instinctively stepped back, his gut tightening at its sheer force. He half–expected Yorick to lash out at him, but instead, Yorick rose to his feet and walked toward the grand ceremonial square’s main gate.
This wasn’t his first choice, but a deal had been made with Mason and Ezra. Now that the others had failed, there was no avoiding it–he had to handle things himself.
Inside the Chapel of Oros, the Zen Master gestured toward the final gate that led to the prayer ceremony.
“Mr. Hale, please,” he invited.
Ethan smiled and took a step forward.
Before his foot even touched the ground, a massive figure dropped from above.
Ethan’s body tensed.
The Zen Master immediately moved in front of him.
Guards and Chapel of Oros disciples reacted instantly, weapons drawn as they surrounded the uninvited
guest.
Chester, who had just returned, stepped forward, his expression filled with rage. “What do you think you’re doing, traitor Yorick?!”
Yorick’s gaze sharpened.
The Zen Master stiffened–not because he feared Yorick’s power, but because he understood something crucial.
If Yorick had truly intended to kill Ethan just now, there would have been no time to react, no way to protect him. Chester and the others wouldn’t have stood a chance.
Now, Chester had gone and provoked him–a reckless mistake.
Yet, unaware of the danger, Chester continued, his voice shaking with fury. “Did you murder my father? Did you turn President Barton into a hollow shell?”
Yorick’s expression remained furious. However, his voice was eerily calm. “So, you’re Pierre’s son?”
Chester’s blood boiled. “So, it’s true?! You killed him?!”
