If it had just been the two of them, he wouldn’t have wasted his time or energy fighting Gwain. But with a crowd gathered, and after throwing out such a challenge, backing down now would be nothing short of humiliating. How could he hold his head high if he walked away?
And if even he felt that way, then Gwain–who had always prided himself on his strength–could only feel it more intensely.
He had boasted time and again that he would one day become the strongest under heaven. Yet if he couldn’t even put down a mere lackey under Teddy’s command, especially after already crushing his subordinates, then the real humiliation would be his to bear.
With an icy smirk, Gwain fired back, “I think you’ve got it backward. You hurt my men. Get on your knees, apologize to them, and maybe I’ll consider letting you crawl away with your life.”

Meanwhile, at the halfway point, the fallen shop had forced everyone outside. Now, a growing crowd gathered around the wreckage, eyes locked on the two men still locked in combat.

Gautier, however, paid no mind to the praise. Despite his injured leg, he moved swiftly, stepping forward with effortless control as he positioned himself between the two warriors.
