“Mr. Tanner! Mr. Tanner…” Aora sobbed uncontrollably
He had been devastated by Amethyst’s death, furious over the loss of Ash and Azure, but now, even Teddy was gone, and it felt as if his very faith had crumbled. Meanwhile, Gautier returned to Zovince the following morning.
Ignoring his injuries, he made himself look as disheveled as possible. Using his status as Teddy’s personal assistant and heir, he once again summoned the representatives who remained in Zovince.
“Mr. Verkade, what happened to you?”
“Your leg… Why are you limping?”
“Yeah, you were fine yesterday!”
Everyone was shocked, and an ominous feeling settled in their hearts seeing him in this state.
Sure enough, Gautier suddenly broke into uncontrollable sobs, choking on his words. “Everyone… it’s all my fault… I was too weak… Last night, I failed to save my master…”

Gritting his teeth, Gautier finally nodded and forced out the words, “Master… He was killed by Emmanuel! I did everything I could to save him, but that b*stard was too strong…”
“Impossible!” A woman’s voice rang out sharply.
It was Nadia Raferty, the Zovince representative who had voted in Teddy’s favor.
Anyone who knew her was aware of how close she had been to Teddy. Years ago, when she had established a small business circle in Stratford, Teddy had personally stepped in to support her.

Master was too righteous, and he fell victim to Emmanuel’s schemes. So… Sigh!”
He deliberately shaped his words.to fit their beliefs, ensuring they would accept the truth–and, more importantly, fuel their hatred toward Emmanuel. And sure enough, an uproar of furious voices immediately filled the room.
“So much for being a War God! Without his dirty tricks, he wouldn’t have stood a chance against Mr. Tanner!”
“What a tragedy! Mr. Tanner, wise and mighty throughout his life, in the end, was betrayed by sc*ms like Emmanuel Lowe and Mackenzie Quillen!”
“We must avenge Mr. Tanner and also make Emmanuel Lowe pay for what he did to Mr. Verkade’s leg!”

“Capture Mackenzie Quillen alive–sell her to the brothels!”
Seeing the crowd’s emotions rise to a fever pitch, a shadow flickered in Gautier’s eyes.
He raised his hand to silence them, producing an electronic inheritance document. Wiping away his tears, he steadied his voice. “You’re right. We must kill Emmanuel and avenge my master! I swore a blood oath when I inherited his will. But now, with my leg crippled, I fear I may not be able to lead you all…”
At these words, the reactions varied. Some were skeptical, others unwilling, but the majority supported Gautier’s succession.
Especially after reviewing the inheritance document, many immediately responded with enthusiasm. “Since Mr. Verkade is Mr. Tanner’s heir and even sacrificed his leg trying to save him, from now on, we shall unite under his leadership and continue our fight against Emmanuel and his wife!”

They had already decided–to unite all of Emmanuel’s enemies and eliminate him as quickly as possible.
Gautier had also heard that Gwain was expected to emerge from seclusion that day.
Time to see just how strong that man has become.

With both their patriarch and heir apparent in seclusion, Wyatt was currently the highest authority in the estate. But faced with this dilemma, even he hesitated.
If they barged in and disrupted Gwain’s cultivation, the consequences could be catastrophic–if he suffered a backlash, it would be an utter disaster.
