Lady Rosa chuckled, breaking the tension. “Fearless men are the ones women admire the most, aren’t they?”
Isabella didn’t scold her for the comment. After all, she was still a woman–and bold men had their charm. With quiet certainty, she simply stated, “True, but men like that rarely live long. I’d wager it’s not just those in Zovince–half the country’s power players would love to see Emmanuel taken down.”
However, Lady Rosa dismissed the danger. “So what? He’s the Wolf Warrior King. A man like that doesn’t hesitate. Just watch–soon we’ll hear that Teddy’s dead at his hands.”
Isabella allowed herself a small smile. “Yes, he dares to do what others won’t…”
Her fingers returned to the piano, a soft melody filling the room as she added, “But that doesn’t mean he’ll succeed.”
Lady Rosa frowned, her mind racing. What does Master mean by that? Is Teddy really that strong? Could even Emmanuel fail to kill him?
Meanwhile, on the road to Brocade City, Teddy’s expression suddenly darkened as he read a message on his phone. His grip on the device tightened.
Sensing the shift, Aora glanced over and asked, “Mr. Tanner, what’s wrong?”
Teddy gritted his teeth and snapped, “D*mn that Gautier! He took the Chamber of Commerce seal and is using it to rally my people, turning them against Mackenzie.”
Aora blinked, thinking, Isn’t that what we wanted?
His gaze then fell on the Chamber of Commerce seal, still in its box beside Teddy.
Confusion set in.
He asked slowly, “Wait… isn’t the seal right here? Then what is Gautier holding?”
Teddy’s jaw tightened. His voice was cold. “A fake.”
