“Mr. Verkade, where is Mr. Tanner? What is happening?”
“Did he truly call this meeting? What is his next move? We need to hear his plan firsthand!”
“We can’t allow Mackenzie to seize control! Tell us what to do!”
Gautier raised both hands, signaling for silence.
His voice remained clear and unwavering. “Everyone, listen up!”
The murmurs faded as he continued speaking, “Mr. Tanner is on the run. Emmanuel and his forces are hunting him down to seize the Chamber of Commerce seal. He has been forced to lay low for now.”
Gasps echoed through the room, followed by hushed whispers.
Gautier pressed on, “Do not mistake this retreat for surrender. Mr. Tanner will return stronger and reci his position. He will continue to protect your interests.”
His words struck a nerve–Teddy had become the persecuted leader, the victim of an unjust coup.
A few voices rose, filled with anger and determination.

The room fell dead silent. All eyes widened in disbelief.

“That… That is the Chamber of Commerce seal!”
“How did you get it?”
The crowd’s reactions varied–shock, suspicion, intrigue.
Gautier held the seal high, his expression unreadable. “Mr. Tanner knew Emmanuel would try to take it. He entrusted it to me. With this, we will act on his behalf, ensure our control over the business sector remains intact, and rally behind Catherine’s presidency–ensuring Mr. Tanner reclaims his rightful place!”
The declaration split the room.
Many nodded in approval, knowing their wealth and businesses depended on Teddy’s return to power. His downfall meant their own ruin.
However, those with genuine loyalty to Teddy exchanged uneasy glances. Doubt flickered in their eyes. Would Mr. Tanner really entrust the seal to Gautier?
One voice finally spoke up, “That seal represents ultimate power. Mr. Tanner never allowed anyone else to handle it—not even Mr. Lestrange. He always kept it under strict personal control. Why would he suddenly entrust it to you?”
The murmurs paused.
Doubt crept in.
Gautier’s expression hardened. His voice turned sharp. “Are you questioning Mr. Tanner’s decision? I am his heir! Who else would he entrust the seal to?”
The room fell into silence. The hesitation faded.
Seeing the shift, Gautier pressed forward, “Now is not the time for doubts. The walls are closing in. If we fall back, we risk losing it all. We must immediately act by issuing official statements denouncing Mackenzie for election fraud and political persecution. The business community must stand united–supporting Mr. Tanner and ensuring Catherine secures the presidency!”
A wave of reluctant agreement swept through the room.
Even Teddy’s most loyal followers found themselves left with no alternative.
Gautier’s voice rang with finality. “Prepare the statements immediately. I will stamp them with the Chamber of Commerce seal, making them official. The power stays with us. Mackenzie is nothing more than a puppet -she holds the title but none of the authority!”

Far beyond Zovince, Teddy and Aora had been on the move through the night.
By the time dawn broke, they had reached the city’s outskirts.
Teddy finally stirred awake.
Aora turned to him immediately. “Mr. Tanner, do you need something to eat? We have gained enough distance. Emmanuel will not be able to track us.”
Yet beneath his calm demeanor, a restless hunger simmered.
He mused, This isn’t a chase–it’s a chance. I’ve spent years perfecting the Dragon’s Reversal Essence, honing my strength beyond its limits. What’s the point of all this power if I never put it to the test? Taking down Emmanuel isn’t just a fight–it proves I’ve surpassed him.
However, Teddy had other concerns. “I am not hungry. We are heading to Brocade City. My loyalists are there, waiting for my orders. I need to keep Mackenzie on the defensive.”
He then reached beside the car seat and grasped the Chamber of Commerce seal, his fingers tightening around it as he contemplated, As long as this stays with me, she’s stuck. Without it, she can’t push a single reform before the election.

Even as they sped toward Brocade City, Aora’s thoughts drifted elsewhere.
Let him catch up. Why does Teddy still see Emmanuel as a threat, a roadblock in his way?

She needed this. Desperation lingered in her voice, a silent plea to prove her worth to Emmanuel.
“Good.” Emmanuel’s voice staved steady, but his eves burned with intent.
