Thanks to the Chapman Family’s support, the weight on Emmanuel’s shoulders had lightened significantly.

Claudette had been keeping her distance, but watching him work–saving lives, bringing people back from the brink of death–only deepened her admiration.
She noticed the sweat dripping from his forehead. Her first instinct was to step forward and wipe it away, but she hesitated. Instead of acting on impulse, she took a step back.
Laura approached her with a knowing smile. “You’re hesitating, aren’t you? Mackenzie’s busy right now. As Caden’s godmother, shouldn’t you step in and support him?”
Claudette shook her head with a soft but firm smile. “No, Aunt Laura.”
Regaining her lost memories hadn’t made her the same person she once was. It had given her clarity.
She had finally understood–love didn’t mean holding on. Sometimes, real love meant stepping back and letting someone be happy, even if it wasn’t with you.
If she continued chasing Emmanuel, it wouldn’t be fair to anyone–not to him, Mackenzie, and herself.
Mackenzie had always treated her with kindness. She couldn’t use that as an excuse to create chaos in someone else’s life.
Sometimes, the purest kind of love was knowing when to walk away.
Laura watched her, then sighed in quiet relief. She’s grown past who I once was. There’s no need to push her toward something that was never meant to be. Maybe, sometimes, love is best expressed through letting go.
“Claudette!” Mackenzie suddenly appeared at her side, taking her hand. “I need to go investigate the poisoning with Veronica. Can you hold things down here with Emmanuel?”
Claudette hesitated. “Me? I-”
“Is that a problem?” Mackenzie asked, studying her.
Claudette straightened and quickly shook her head. “No, I can handle it.”
Mackenzie gave her an appreciative smile before turning and heading off with Lexi. They followed Veronica toward the hotel’s security room, determined to find answers.
Inside the hotel’s security room, they reviewed footage from thirty–two different surveillance cameras.
Mackenzie and Veronica were both sharp observers, and it didn’t take long to spot suspicious activity.
The first red flag–Chiara had entered the backroom and spoken privately with the wine cellar manager. Moments later, a new batch of wine was brought in from outside and stored in the cellar.
The second–one of the zoomed–in shots caught Chiar and Levi speaking. Unfortunately, they were too far from the microphone to pick up their conversation but their body language suggested something was going on.

Mackenzie turned to Veronica. “Ms. Veronica, we need to test the drinks from the banquet hall and compare them to this agarwood. If there’s a reaction, we might have our answer.”
Veronica took the agarwood and nodded. Her expression turned steely. “Understood. This isn’t just about your safety or your guests–it’s about the reputation of my hotel. Whoever’s behind this will pay for it.”
Mackenzie offered a reassuring smile. “I trust you.”
She and Emmanuel shared the same confidence in the Chapman Family. If anyone could get to the bottom of this, it was Veronica.
Meanwhile, Levi was in the back of a black car on his way to a hotel near the Chamber of Commerce headquarters. It was convenient to stay there before heading to the election venue the next morning.
Yet just as the car approached the entrance, something or someone–dropped from the sky and landed directly in its path.
The driver slammed on the brakes, causing Levi to lurch forward.
“What the hell?!” he muttered, adjusting himself.
“Mr. Lestrange, someone’s blocking the road!” the driver stammered, voice tense.
Levi’s eyes narrowed. A lone figure standing unmoved in front of a speeding car? That’s no ordinary obstacle.
“Run them over,” Levi ordered without hesitation.
He had worked under Teddy for years. He had seen plenty of ambushes before. The smartest move? Never stopped moving.
However, the driver shook his head frantically. “I can’t! The car–he’s lifting it off the ground!”
Levi’s stomach dropped. With no other choice, he shoved the door open and climbed out, eyes locking on the man responsible.
He let out a dry chuckle. “So, even a brute like you is getting involved?”
Before him stood a towering figure, built like a war machine–Quintus Lenoir, the Wolf Warrior Unit’s most formidable fighter. He lifted and flipped the car with nothing but raw strength, completely cutting off Levi’s escape.
Levi’s eyes narrowed as he pointed at him. “Who the hell are you, and why are you in my way?”
Quintus was known as one of Emmanuel’s most brutal soldiers, but Levi had never dealt with him directly. In Zovince, Levi played the role of strategist–he was the one pulling the strings, not engaging in physical fights. This was their first real confrontation.
Quintus didn’t blink. “Quintus Lenoir. General of the Wolf Warrior Unit.”
He then stated flatly, “Now, hand over the antidote.”
Levi’s smile faded. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Quintus grabbed him by the collar, voice dangerously low. “Don’t play dumb, Half the banquet hall was poisoned. Mackenzie sent me to bring you in. We know von dir Y

Quintus might have been blunt, but he wasn’t stupid. If Mackenzie and Emmanuel had sent him to catch someone, that meant they were sure Levi was guilty. That was good enough for him.
Levi’s expression darkened. “Everyone was poisoned?”
He hesitated for a fraction of a second, then smirked. “What does that have to do with me? Throwing around accusations without proof–how reckless.”
Quintus‘ grip tightened. “Still acting innocent?”
Levi’s voice dropped cold. “Let go of me.”
His gaze was sharp as he warned, “Intercepting a Zovince official? Do you have any idea what kind of crime that is? If you don’t let go now, you will be the one facing consequences.”
Quintus let out a low chuckle. “Threats? I’ve heard it all before. Here’s the thing–I don’t do backing down.”
Levi clenched his teeth. He was a trained fighter, but against someone like Quintus? He didn’t stand a chance. To make matters worse, the people he had with him now were no match for Quintus. Even if he wanted to fight back, he could do nothing.
Then…
Bang!
A gunshot rang out behind Quintus.
Levi’s breath hitched.
His driver had a gun for protection, but Levi hadn’t given the order to fire. Judging by the direction of the shot… something wasn’t right.
With the instincts of an S+ Rank fighter, Quintus dropped to the ground instantly, narrowly dodging any follow–up shots.
His
eyes burned with pure rage when he sprang back to his feet.
“D*mn it! I haven’t even moved, and you’re already playing dirty. You really thought you could take me out like that?” he growled.
Without hesitation, he launched forward. His fist crashed into Levi’s right shoulder with a sickening crunch.
Levi barely had time to react. He tried to block, but the power difference was too significant. Pain shot through his arm, and he stumbled backward. Something had definitely snapped.
Even though Quintus was brutal, he was careful. Emmanuel had told him to bring Levi in alive, so he had made sure to hold back–just enough to hurt him without killing him.
Yet before Quintus could grab Levi again, a strange ship in the air made him freeze.
Instinctively, he looked up.
A breathtakingly beautiful yet clearly dangerous woman was descending from the sky,
