The urgent report from the Wolf Warrior intelligence it came through, but Quintus merely narrowed his eyes, his expression calm–neither panicked nor angry.
Ken, on the other hand, was losing his mind.
Quintus and his men were highly skilled fighters with the ability to escape even in dire situations. But the representatives? They were ordinary men with no combat ability–casy prey if they were stranded here.
Before anyone could react, a bright glow suddenly illuminated the area.
“Fire!”
“The mountain’s on fire!”
“They’re setting fire to the slopes on both sides!”
The moment Ken and the representatives realized what was happening, panic set in.
They were trapped like fish in a barrel, with no way to fly out of this sea of flames.
Libby was just as alarmed, quickly shouting, “Mr. Quintus! What do we do? Let’s turn back.”
“Shut up and stop yapping!” Quintus snapped, then turned his gaze‘ toward the spreading fire before tilting his head back to glance at the sky again.
“General Quintus, the flames up ahead are too intense! We can’t advance any further!” A Wolf Warrior rushed over to report, and the convoy came to a halt.
Quintus hadn’t responded yet when laughter echoed from the mountains above.
“Hahaha! Still remember me, Lenoir?”
Quintus followed the voice to the top of the ridge. Standing there was a bald–headed man–the very same bandit chief whose leg he had broken back then.
“Oh! Look who it is–the Beanie Hat Guy!” Quintus smirked, completely unfazed. “What, no beanie this time? Decided to show off that shiny cue ball instead? Hahaha…”
“Pah! Don’t get cocky, you b*stard!” Isaias spat, pointing a finger at him in fury. “You killed so many of my brothers, destroyed our stronghold, and cut off our source of income. Today, I’ll make sure you and your people all burn to ashes in this fire!”
The representatives on the buses were shaking in fear.
If the flames kept spreading, they would be completely surrounded in no time. Once that happened, they’d have no way out and would be roasted alive.
But instead of fear, Quintus let out a hearty laugh. “Not a bad strategy!” he shouted back. “But I don’t get it -how do you plan to escape when the fire starts spreading everywhere?”

“That’s none of your concern!” Isaias responded, his voce brimming with excitement. “We have our escape routes. And even if we don’t make it out, taking you down with us will be worth it! I’ll be avenging my brothers and the Five Poison Sect!”
“Hah! For a villain, at least you have some loyalty,” Quintus chuckled. “So, tell me, was this strategy your idea?”
“Of course it was! I’ve studied war tactics! Back then, Magnus the Fox almost killed Regis the Ironhearted using fire attacks!” Isaias declared proudly…
But before he could revel in his self–satisfaction, Quintus laughed even louder. “Hahaha! You think you’re the only one who’s read books? I have plenty of well–read people on my side! Did you really think we wouldn’t have foreseen such a simple trick?”
Isaias‘ grin faltered. “What do you mean?”
The two men were practically shouting at each other across the mountain, their voices carrying over the roaring flames. Everyone in the convoy could hear them loud and clear.
Quintus smirked. “Tell me, did you finish reading Saga of the Three Nations? In the end, a rainstorm saved Regis the Ironhearted.”
Isaías scoffed, about to mock Quintus for his foolish hope. He had checked the weather forecast–there was no snow and certainly no rain in sight. But before he could say a word, raindrops started to fall from the sky.
Isaias‘ face twisted in shock.
His subordinates, even more panicked, began shouting in disbelief.
“It’s raining!”
“How is this happening?”
“The forecast said there wouldn’t be any rain today!”
Seeing their reaction, Quintus laughed even harder. Behind him, Solana couldn’t help but smile as well.
“Hey, Cue Ball, when it comes to strategy, the people backing you are nowhere near the level of the people backing us!” Quintus taunted with a smirk. “Regis the Ironhearted was saved by destiny back then, but we made the sky rain through sheer planning. Ever heard of artificial rain?”
“This… this…” Isaias was completely thrown off.
His men, suddenly enlightened in hindsight, started murmuring among themselves.
“Boss, I told you going against them was a bad idea!”
“These guys even wiped out the Five Poison Sect, and we’re still thinking about revenge? We’re just delivering ourselves straight to Death!”
“Stop talking, let’s run!”
Before the fire could fully spread, the rain smothered it completely ruining their ambush. The mountain bandits, realizing their plan had failed, scattered in all directions.

Quintus immediately shouted, “Brothers, you have one hour–wipe them out!”
“Yes, sirt”
The well–trained Wolf Warrior Unit charged into action
“Mr. Quintus, you’re amazing!” Libby cheered, poking her head out and clapping enthusiastically.

“Haha, of course!” Quintus, thick–skinned as always, grinned before adding, “But I can’t take all the credit. Mackenzie and I are a perfect combination–brains and brawn. Teddy Tanner and his little minions are no match for us!”
Ken finally let out a breath of relief, glad that Mackenzie hadn’t just given him a plan but Quintus too.
He shouldn’t have been surprised, really. Mackenzie was meticulous to a fault–she would never leave something this important entirely in Quintus‘ hands. Besides, she had Magnus Zelinsky at her disposal as
well.
Now it all clicked–Quintus had insisted on taking this route not just for travel but to lure out the remaining West End forces and wipe them out once and for all.
Forty minutes later, a Wolf Warrior returned to report. General Quintus, the bandits on the mountain have been completely dealt with. We also captured their leader. What should we do with him?”
A moment later, Isaias was dragged down, his body covered in dirt and leaves, barely clinging to life. He must have been thrown down the mountainside–half–dead but still breathing.
“I’m not into cue balls. Just half him,” Quintus said without hesitation.
People like this were a menace to society–what was the point of keeping them alive? Handing him over to the authorities would just risk another escape. Might as well take care of him now.
Hearing that, Isaias jolted up in fear. But before he could even beg for his life, Solana stepped forward and struck him down with a precise chop to the neck–killing him instantly.
Solana leisurely wiped her hands clean with a piece of tissue, then tossed it onto his lifeless face, radiating effortless dominance.
“Hah! You’re one ruthless woman. I like that!” Quintus pointed at her with a chuckle.
He said it offhandedly, but the words carried weight. Solana’s lips curled in amusement while Libby felt a pang of disappointment.
Mr. Quintus liked Ms. Quillen, and now, he likes Solana too. Will he ever start falling for me?
“Move out!”
Quintus, now in high spirits after the fight, whistled as he led the convoy forward.
Ken remained in the main vehicle, feeling a lot more at ease.
Quintus had been fishing for Teddy’s remaining henchmen, but there had always been the worry that he was charging ahead recklessly. Now, after witnessing all this, Ken was certain–Quintus had powerful people backing him up, and that meant their chances of success were much higher.
