Emmanuel had no time for jokes at the moment.
Mackenzie hurriedly explained, “Rhett, back when he was with the Five Poison Sect, was determined to protect me with his life. At that time, he passed on the Holy Guardian to Quintus, which is why he’s always been by my side, protecting me now!”
“Mm, I didn’t mean it like that. Quintus and I are life–and–death brothers, but he’d be better off staying in the West End or Nuthana.”
Emmanuel clarified to Mackenzie.

Ashton, watching from the side, noticed this too. She had once had feelings for Emmanuel, so she could easily recognize the meaning behind that gaze! A woman only looked at a man this way when she liked him–soft and affectionate, not shy, but filled with tender longing!
“Your son looks a lot like you!” Claudette smiled slightly, “I’m sure he’ll grow up to be a hero like you!”
“Ah…” Feeling awkward, Emmanuel smiled, saying, “Thank you!”
Claudette was important to him, and he had once promised to take care of her for life.
But now, he was no longer the oblivious gynecologist he once was–he could easily feel the affection she harbored for him!
So, he couldn’t help but wonder, Has Claudette regained her memories?
“Emmanuel, I discussed this with Claudette before we came!” Mackenzie looked at the two, who seemed like young lovers meeting for the first time. She couldn’t help but walk over, playing matchmaker for them. “From now on, she’ll be Caden’s godmother! What do you think?”

“Emmanuel, no objections, right?” Mackenzie turned to look at him.
Claudette’s past feelings for him were something Mackenzie deeply understood. The two of them owed Claudette so much, and she simply couldn’t bear to see him disappoint or hurt her again.
“Living together is of course fine, but how could someone as outstanding and beautiful as Claudette not be able to find someone to marry? Let’s talk about these things later.”

“Mackenzie, now you can tell me what preparations you’ve made.”
Emmanuel was still the man who knew how to prioritize. Once the door was closed, it was all about discussing important matters. He didn’t even have time to play with his son.
“Well, I know that Ethan’s approval rating is ahead now. If I become chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, then Teddy and his people will be utterly powerless!” Mackenzie quickly added, “So the simplest and most effective way for him is to assassinate the members of the Chamber of Commerce who support us, to prevent me from taking his position!”
Emmanuel nodded, giving her a thumbs–up. He hadn’t discussed these matters with his wife before.
“As for Nuthana, I’ve already instructed my grandfather to gather all the Chamber of Commerce representatives. In a couple of days, they’ll head to Zovince with the protection of the Wolf Warrior Unit. I’m confident that Teddy won’t be able to make trouble
Mackenzie continued, “As for the Chamber of Commerce representatives from West End, Ken will be gathering them. He certainly knows that Teddy wants to eliminate him, so he’ll do everything he can to make sure he survives and makes it to Zovince!”
“Mackenzie, you’re so smart!” Emmanuel excitedly grasped his wife’s hand.
