Adrian deliberately brushed aside Ethan’s humor, scaling off any room for retreat. He pressed forward, his tone resolute. “I hope you will be like your predecessor and acknowledge this fact!”
Given the solemnity of the occasion, the Chanacans cursed inwardly. Bullshit!
Yet, no one dared to speak out.
This was a formal diplomatic exchange, with cameras rolling and media recording every moment. Interruptions were forbidden.
Compared to the dark and brooding expressions on the Chanaeans, the Shoiyans wore smug smiles, brimming with confidence.
They knew Ethan had served as Artemis deputy and belonged to the same faction. Ethan’s reputation for appeasement and strategic patience had led many to see him as weak and accommodating.
Based on this assumption, they believed Ethan would be even easier to handle.
Yet, he responded with a measured voice. “Mr. Kashimoto, either you are mistaken, or your record keepers have made an error. None of our former leaders, including my predecessor, has ever acknowledged such a claim.”
“Birdsong Island has always been Chanaea’s territory since ancient times. I think you should review your records carefully to avoid making statements that invite ridicule!”
Hidden among the observers, Emmanuel was admiring Ethan’s sharp wit and calm demeanor.
Though gentle in tone, his words were far from weak.
It was Chanaea’s turn to smile.
But the Shoiyans were unlike the reserved Chanaeans. They immediately resorted to crude insults, shouting something incomprehensible but clearly derogatory.
The Chanaeans seethed with anger at such rudeness.

“Of course!” Willow replied proudly.
Adrian continued to stay silent.

The man standing behind Willow smirked and sneered, “You should recognize your position and strength. Misjudging the situation will cost you dearly when conflict breaks out.”
“That’s right!” another man chimed in. “Your so–called martial arts masters were already crushed by Shoiya’s Martial Saint. If war comes, your army will crumble after decades of peace. You’ll have no one to blame but yourselves!”
Their taunts pushed the tension to its breaking point.
Emmanuel quickly noticed that these two men were likely bodyguards or low–level lackeys. Yet, they dared to act so brazenly in this setting.
Adrian’s silence made it clear. This chaos was orchestrated, aimed at exploiting Ethan’s reputation as a peace–seeker.
However, Ethan gave Wendy, a subtle look.
It was a small gesture, unnoticed by most, but Emmanuel caught it instantly.
Wendy understood instantly. With two assistants, she stepped forward. “Gentlemen, this is a diplomatic forum for national leaders. As you are not representatives, I must ask you to refrain from disrupting the proceedings.”
“Haha. Distrupting?”
The two men deliberately twisted her words. “We’re just stating facts. Everyone knows that Chanaea’s martial arts world has been ravaged by just one person from our Shoiya!”
“Exactly!”
Another man sneered. “When war breaks out, your undisciplined army will fall apart!”
“You arrogant pukes? Get out of here!”
One of Wendy’s assistants finally lost his temper. Using his position as protocol officer, he stepped forward, attempting to expel the men.
But before he could act, the Shoiyan struck first.
“Smack!”
A heavy blow sent the men crashing to the floor. The impact echoed through the hall, silencing everyone.

Some officials smirked, expecting Ethan to offer his usual speech about peace and harmony, defusing the situation without consequences.
But Ethan surprised them. He said nothing while letting Wendy’s men proceed with the fight.
Yet the Shoiyans proved formidable fighters. With weapons prohibited, Chanaea’s security struggled to subdue them. More guards fell to the floor.

event.
