As Santiago approached step by step, Centipede Lord barked orders, urging his men to intercept him.
It wasn’t that he underestimated this opponent, it was in fact, the opposite.
How Isabella spoke about this man left no doubt that he was an extraordinary master.
Yet, they needed to gauge his true strength before deciding how to deal with him.
After all, Santiago was alone no matter how strong he was. The Five Poison Sect boasted an assembly of elite fighters. They were sure to win.
Centipede Lord’s men surrounded Santiago, but he continued striding forward, undeterred, prompting them to a sudden attack.

Two attackers leaped from behind Santiago, attempting to ambush him.
Mackenzie and the others looked on anxiously but remained silent.
There is no time to warn him. If this man could be taken down so easily, we could no longer be saved.
“Whoosh!”
Just as the two attackers closed in, Santiago swayed aside, evading effortlessly. With his left hand, he struck twice in quick succession.
He didn’t use the gun in his right hand. Instead, both strikes were executed with his left hand.
His speed was so fast that the strikes seemed simultaneous.
This left Centipede Lord and the other men in shock.
The two attackers were sent flying. Their bodies were enveloped in silver–white energy, crashing into their comrades and leaving chaos in their wake.
Two deep furrows marred the ground where they landed, a testament to the power behind those strikes.
Two straight craters were left on the scene, showing just how powerful those two strikes were!
The fighters from the Five Poison Sect all gasped in unison.
Even the self–proclaimed indestructible Serpent King broke into an uneasy smile.
If those two strikes hit me, I’d have walked away unscathed. I wouldn’t be as easy as taking hits from Quintus!

The remaining men scattered. No one dared to stand in his way.
The pressure in the air was suffocating.
Cold sweat broke out on Aora’s forehead.

He knew full well that he was not a match for Santiago!
So, he turned to Scorpion Belle, hoping they could fight together.
Together, their poison techniques could unleash unimaginable power. Even the strongest fighter in the world might not escape unscathed.

He turned back in anger and saw Scorpion Beauty trembling.

“Scorpion Belle, what are you doing?”
Centipede Lord looked incredulous.
No one in the Five Poison Sect knew Scorpion Belle better than he did.
Beneath her seductive exterior hid a heart as fearless as any man’s.
She had never flinched in battle–until now.
Her reaction sent shockwaves through the crowd.

“You foolish Centipede Lord, you can go ahead. I–I’m not fighting him!” Scorpion Belle stammered, pointing at Santiago. “I know who he is! He’s the demon who killed my master!”

Scorpion Belle had been the disciple of the previous Scorpion King. She was more than her alluring appearance. She’s versatile with her poisons.
Yet, her strength hadn’t necessarily surpassed her master’s.
Centipede Lord knew she had witnessed her master’s death. To her, that master had been invincible. He was her pillar of faith.
Watching that pillar fall had surely left a deep scar. Now, as she was facing the same demon, her fear was understandable.
“D*mn it! Let’s see just how strong you really are!”
Unwilling to back down, Centipede Lord charged.
As the grandmaster of the Five Poison Sect, dying in battle was far more honorable than dying of fright.
His six arms extended, growing larger and launching an all–out attack like three fighters in one.
As Centipede Lord revealed his strength, Solana and Anna who lay wounded, couldn’t help but marvel.

The true strength of the Five Poison Sect’s principal guardian is truly unfathomable! They’re definitely stronger than the Dark Night Island!
Aora, too, was impressed. Centipede Lord has grown stronger over the years. Perhaps, he’s now my rival.
But despite his overwhelming power, Centipede Lord couldn’t land a single hit on Santiago.
Santiago was using the Drunken Crane footwork. His movements were elegant, fluid, and untouchable.
“Haha. Old man, you’re good at dodging but you can’t win by running away! You’re nothing special after all!”
Centipede Lord taunted as he tried to boost Scorpion Belle’s courage.
If she joined him, their odds of winning would rise.
All of a sudden, Santiago grinned and waved his gun in his right hand.
The weapon’s glow forced Centipede Lord to retreat.

He smiled faintly. “But since that’s the case, I’ll have to get serious. Let me remind you all of the nostalgic fear.”
Upon hearing this, Aora tensed up.
Serpent King quietly stepped back.
