It was already evening when Nathan woke up. He jumped out of bed and rushed for the door.
“Mr. Nathan!”
“Mr. Nathan, where are you going?”
“You’re not allowed to go out!”
A group of beautiful maids screamed in panic. The bolder ones even tried stopping him.
“Get out of my way!” Nathan, a gentleman who usually respected women, insisted on leaving and shoved the young, beautiful maids out of his path.
Before he could leave the mansion, Gale stopped him in his tracks.
He snapped his head back to find Veronica leading a group of people, including his other sisters, toward him.
“Nath, where are you going?” Veronica asked.
“Isn’t it obvious? I need to see Master! How is he now?” Nathan was anxious.
He could never further advance himself in martial arts if Emmanuel was dead. Moreover, he and Emmanuel had formed a deep bond over time.
To be honest, if it were someone else–for example, one of his sisters–he wouldn’t feel as grief as he felt for Emmanuel.
“You may never see him again!” Veronica teased with a blank face.
“Why?” As expected, her younger brother rushed to her and grabbed her shoulders, screaming, “Is Master killed? No way! I don’t believe it! He’s the Northern Region War God! He’s invincible! Nobody can beat him!”
A flurry of emotions swarmed Veronica at the sight of her grieving brother.
It pained Audrey to see his heartbroken look, and she advised, “Veronica, stop teasing Nath!”
“What do you mean?” His eyes widened in disbelief as relief washed over him. “He’s fine, right? Haha! I know it! Master is invincible! Those punks who want to kill him can keep on dreaming! Those Eight Supreme Grandmasters are nothing compared to Master!”
He felt a shiver down his spine when he finished his words. He immediately turned to Gale and explained,
“Master Lively, it’s nothing against you! I’m talking about Arnold. He’s not worthy to be mentioned in the same breath as you! You’re better than him!”
Gale chuckled. “So, what you mean is, Arnold is nothing, but I’m slightly better than ‘nothing‘, right?”
He shared a hearty laugh with Gale. “Master Lively, I like your humor-”
To everyone’s surprise, he seized the moment to slip away when everyone was distracted.
