Moving faster than anyone could react, Gale reached Nathan and Ashton first, pulling them back in the nick of time. Birch’s fists smashed into empty air, missing their marks.

“Birch,” Gale remarked with an arched brow, his tone sharp but controlled. “It’s just kids roughhousing. Don’t you think it’s beneath someone of your age and stature to bully the younger generation?”

“Oh, so you say it wasn’t them, and we’re just supposed to believe you? Where’s your proof?” Charles shouted back, his anger palpable. After all, the man who had been killed was his close friend.
“The one who makes the claim must provide the proof Emmanuel countered with Peason.
But he had no intention of wasting more words on these people. With a furious roar, he added, “You say it was them? Then show me your evidence! I say it wasn’t and my fists are my evidence! Anyone with doubts can come and test them out!”
As he finished speaking, he stomped the ground in anger.

The solid floor cracked under his foot, splitting open into a jagged pit. The impact was like a wild dragon tearing through the earth. Even Birch and Chiara were so startled they instinctively stepped back several
paces.

“Emmanuel, wait for me!” Nathan called out, eager to follow. This was such a pivotal moment–how could he miss a chance to bask in the limelight?
But Veronica grabbed his arm, holding him back.
Emmanuel had made it clear he didn’t want to drag the Chapman family into this mess. How could she, as an elder sister, let her brother wade into such dangerous waters?
The Chapman family might support Ethan, but that didn’t mean they could afford to stand shoulder–to- shoulder with Emmanuel against the whole world.
Moreover, with her brother’s mediocre skills, what help could he possibly offer Emmanuel out there? At best, he would be useless; at worst, he would become a liability.
“Let me go!” Nathan struggled, shouting angrily. “Let me go!”
He was determined to stand by Emmanuel and fight to his heart’s content, even pushing away Veronica’s hand.
But Veronica wasn’t about to let him get his way. She quickly instructed Gale to hold him back by force.
While Nathan was restrained, Ashton had no such restrictions. Without hesitation, she ran after Emmanuel.
And so did Xylie, who had been anxiously watching from the sidelines. Unable to bear the suspense any longer, she cast caution to the wind and followed Emmanuel out.
It didn’t take long for Emmanuel to step through the gates of the Chapman Estate.
The Chapman family’s hundreds of members hadn’t even made it outside yet when a crowd, already lying in wait, emerged like mushrooms after the rain. These people were clearly well prepared, surrounding Emmanuel in the open space just outside the estate.
Emmanuel remained unfazed, his expression as calm as still water. He even let out a faint smirk of disdain.
