“When you lure the enemies to the peak on the left, there’s a narrow trail at the two o’clock direction leading to the central ridge. Take that path to retreat, then head toward the five o’clock direction to the right–side mountain. Midway up the slope, you can start the fire.”
As Magnus laid out his plan, Solana and Quintus couldn’t help but exchange a glance, their expressions a mixture of doubt and curiosity.
“Magnus, how do you even know the lay of the land here? Don’t tell me you’ve been here before. You aren’t secretly tied to the Five Poison Sect, are you?” Quintus asked, his tone dripping with suspicion.
Magnus dismissed him with a scoff. “This is my first time here, same as you. But if you’re going into a fight without knowing the map, you might as well stay home and sell potatoes. I scouted the terrain thoroughly as soon as we ascended the mountain.”
Solana’s eyes widened in shock, her gaze toward Magnus now tinged with admiration. Even though she hadn’t yet figured out why he wanted them to set a fire on the slope, his meticulous preparation left her in

“Enough chatter,” Magnus said, waving them off. “Explaining more to you is pointless. Mackenzie put me in charge here, so all you have to do is follow my orders”
With that, Magnus began escorting Claudette and the others toward the right–side mountain for their
retreat.
“D“mn it! I can’t stand that guy. But for some reason, I want to do exactly what he says, just to see if he’s really as impressive as he acts!” Quintus muttered, his tone both begrudging and intrigued.
“Let’s go, Mr. Quintus,” Solana replied, ignoring his complaints. As long as he followed orders, that was all
that mattered.
Sure enough, when the main forces of the Five Poison Sect scaled the mountain, they pursued Solana and Quintus‘ team toward the left peak as planned.
With the martial prowess of Quintus, Solana, and their team, shaking off their pursuers was child’s play. Following Magnus‘ earlier instructions, they navigated through the central ridge with ease and arrived at the mountainside on the right without incident.
Per Magnus‘ orders, they waited for a considerable amount of time before Solana finally used her unique. skill to ignite a roaring fire.
Thick smoke curled into the sky, dark and ominous, catching the attention of the Five Poison Sect’s troops. Before long, the sect’s forces shifted their focus moving toward the source of the fire.
What’s the point of this? We’re still surrounded. We should’ve just had a bloody showdown with these venomous freaks yesterday. All this sneaky maneuvering feels like pulling down your pants just to fart- completely unnecessary!” Quintus grumbled loudly, his frustration boiling over.
Solana had no idea what Magnus endgame was, but she trusted he had a larger strategy in play.

confident smile lighting up his face. “All right, this is where we take them out. Today, we’re going to crush the Five Poison Sect’s 500 troops with a pincer attack.”
“A pincer attack?” Quintus sneered. “Hal Magnus, are you dreaming? Where’s this phantom force coming. from to help us out?”
“You’ll see in five minutes. You can start the fight now if you want, or wait for them to arrive and join us. Your call,” Magnus said casually, before heading further up the slope. His priority was to guard his princess, leaving the rough work to others.

Quintus‘ head snapped toward the mountain base, his w dropping, Sure enough, a large contingent of Wolf Warriors, armed to the teeth, was advancing swiftly. They had already cut off the Five Poison Sect’s retreat and would reach the mountainside in about thirty minutes.
“Unbelievable! How did that b*stard Magnus know this? He predicted everything down to the last detail. Infuriatingly impressive!” Quintus exclaimed, both amazed and exasperated.
Quintus had been waiting for an opportunity to catch Magnus off guard, just once. Yet, up until now, that man had never made a single mistake!
The team ascending the mountain was led by Anna, and they had over five hundred men. Quintus‘ forces launched an attack from both the front and the rear, and it didn’t take long before the Five Poison Sect’s five hundred–strong team wassent scattering like startled rats, completely routed in thaos.
“Mr. Quintus, is everyone alright? Were there any casualties?”
After the enemy was subdued, Anga immediately turned to Quintus with concern.
It was a clear directive from Mackenzie–casualties were to be kept to an absolute minimum.
“Hey, nobody died! Just a few brothers got injured. How did you know we were here? Did you come specifically to back us up?”
Quintus‘ curiosity got the better of him as he asked.
Solana, standing nearby, perked up her ears to listen closely,
“Our main forces arrived. It was the Saintess who realized that Lexi and her group had also infiltrated the Serpent Lair. She ordered us to rush in for reinforcement. As soon as we got here, we spotted fire and smoke, so we came straight over!”
Anna briefly explained the situation.
Solana’s face immediately lit up with admiration. “Looks like everything was calculated perfectly by Mr. Zelinsky!”
“But how did he know the main forces would arrive at just this moment?”
Quintus still couldn’t figure it out and asked Anna, “Did you coordinate with him?”
Anna simply shook her head.

Solana suddenly slapped her forehead. She had heard something, but at the time, she hadn’t connected it to the arrival of reinforcements!

Quintus straightforward manner surfaced again as he said, “With the strength we have now and the weapons we’re equipped with, we could storm in directly without much issue, right?”
“We’d certainly win,” Magnus affirmed before quickly adding, “But it would come at a heavy cost, both in lives and resources. If we want to eliminate the Serpent Lair without losing a single person and rescue the innocent hostages, we’ll need a strategy that combines forces inside and out.”

Solana’s interest in Magnus‘ every word had reached a fever pitch as she eagerly awaited his next move.
“There’s no time to explain it in full. Someone must immediately follow the Grand Protector’s retreating forces and infiltrate the building!”
Magnus casually gestured, and everyone’s eyes landed on the Grand Protector’s fleeing figure.
