“Aora, Mackenzie’s men have the mountain surrounde” Azure’s voice broke the tense silence as he scrambled up the hill, glancing back nervously. They were trapped–cornered like fish in a barrel. Unless they had wings, there was no way out.
Aora crouched nearby, clenched his fists, and growled, Mackenzie, I’ll make you pay for this. One day, I’ll kill you.”
The hill they’d fled to wasn’t much of a refuge. It was small, steep, and easy for Mackenzie’s well–equipped Wolf Warrior Unit to storm. Yet, Mackenzie wasn’t rushing. She stood at the foot of the hill, arms crossed, assessing the situation.
She thought, This terrain is brutal, and we’re already short on people. If I send more troops up the hill, it might give Aora and Azure the perfect chance to escape. I can’t afford to make careless decisions right now. Aora’s not just a tough fighter–he’s a poison expert. One slip–up and it could all fall apart.
Just then, Rhett stated calmly, “I’ll handle this. We’ve fought twice before without a clear winner. This time, I’ll end it.”
Mackenzie frowned. “Are you sure? Facing Aora alone is risky. What if—
“I know how to deal with his poison, and sending a whole team after him will just give them an opening Trust me–this is the best approach,” he interrupted, his tone steady.
The confidence in Rhett’s voice left no room for argument. He wasn’t just any fighter. As the King of Dark Night Island, he thrived on challenges like this–a battle against someone as formidable as Aora was an opportunity to sharpen his skills.
“Rhett, I’ll come with you,” Anna and Falcon offered in unison.
Rhett glanced at Anna. “Alright, you’re with me. Let’s keep it fair–one–on–one duels. That’s how we do things.”
Mackenzie sighed, realizing there was no changing Rhett’s mind. “Fine, but be careful. We’ve got the upper hand right now–don’t take any unnecessary risks.”
“Appreciate the concern, Your Holiness.” Rhett smirked, dodging any solid commitment. This was the mark of a true warrior–determined to face Aora in a fair fight and bring him down on his own terms.
As night fell, the hill plunged into darkness, the shadows growing thicker with each passing minute. For Rhett and Anna, the lack of light was just another challenge. For Aora and Azure, it was a perfect cover. Yet, Rhett and Anna felt a thrill—they welcomed the challenge, finding it an exciting twist to an otherwise routine battle.
From their hiding spot, Azure whispered, “Aora, someone’s coming.” While his combat skills and internal strength couldn’t rival Aora’s, his sharp senses and keen observation were unmatched among the four.
Nora grinned. “I know. It’s Rhett–he just can’t help himself, can he? Once I take him out, Mackenzie’s
entire plan falls apart. Without their leader, the rest are nothing but headless chickens.”
“That’s how it always works.” Azure nodded. Though he was a martial artist, he had a knack for strategy and tactics. His experience with planning and games taught him that eliminating the leader was the quickest way to bring the whole operation down.

Rhett and Anna advanced cautiously, their footsteps barely making a sound as they scanned the area. Rhett’s sharp gaze cut through the dark while Anna’s instincts kept her alert.
Rustling bushes drew Ana’s attention. She lashed out with precision. “Show yourself!”
As one of the Three Titans of the Ophanim Clan, her skills were razor–sharp, and her movements precise. Yet when her attack landed, the bush was empty.
“Seriously?” Her eyes narrowed, frustration flickering across her face. Did I really misjudge that? she thought, a hint of doubt creeping in.
That’s when two figures burst from the shadows, aiming straight for her.
“Let’s take out the weaker one first,” Aora taunted, his voice dripping with mockery.
Anna braced herself, knowing she couldn’t take on both attackers at once. She locked onto the one in front, determined to hold her ground.
Meanwhile, Azure watched closely from a safe distance his movements deliberate and calculated, He wasn’t in a rush–he knew Aora would finish Anna off soon enough.
“Die!” Aora lunged at Anna, his attack swift and deadly.
Caught off guard, Anna had no way to defend herself. At the last second, a crimson bfur intercepted the
blow.
“Rhett!” Anna gasped, relief washing over her. She knew he wouldn’t leave her behind–years of fighting side by side had built an unshakable bond of trust.
Rhett urged, “You go after the other one. This one’s mine.”
“Got it!” Anna smirked, wasting no time. She darted toward Azure, pushing him out of the fight and leaving Rhett and Aora to face off.
The two rivals stood still, their gazes locked. The tension was palpable.
Rhett simply smirked and launched his attack. Instead of finishing quickly, he held back and drew out the fight.
“You’ve got guts, I’ll give you that,” Aora stated in an almost amused tone. He thought, You trust Anna, and I trust Azure. He’s the smartest and most unpredictable among us.
Rhett’s reply was calm and deliberate. “I respect your strength, Aora. Still, this ends tonight. One–on–one, no tricks.”
“One–on–one? You really think you can handle it?” Aora scoffed.
Rhett gestured to his gas mask and replied confidently, This mask neutralizes one of your deadliest tricks. As long as I don’t let you get the upper hand, your poison won’t touch me.”
Maybe, but you think you’ve figured out all my tricks? Sure, your internal strength might surpass mine, but your technique is no match for me. I just need to avoid a direct clash to turn this fight in my favor.” Aora shifted into a fighting stance, his movements steady and deliberate.

“Let’s see if you’re as confident as you sound,” Rhett retorted. He swiftly flung his crimson cloak forward, the fabric snapping through the air like a whip. Two ghostly red shapes shot toward Aora, fast and precise.
Aora dodged, leaping onto a nearby tree to avoid the sinke. The two warriors moved like shadows, their figures blurring as they clashed in the dark.
“Aora, you’ve improved, Rhett admitted. His voice was low and raspy, carrying an ominous weight like the whisper of a grim reaper as he pushed Aora further up the hill.
“You didn’t think I’d stay the same with poisoning people, did you?” Aora laughed, his movements were slippery and unpredictable. He kept his distance, striking only when Rhett left an opening.
“Playing it safe won’t win you this fight,” Rhett growled, le closed the gap with a burst of speed, his red cloak slicing through the air.
