and Chiara. They were all closely monitoring the situation.
Maxwell and Chiara spoke in their room that night, but “together” was a loose
term. They had separate beds and a drawn curtain between them, a habit
that had kept them from sharing the same bed for years.

Frowning, Maxwell retorted, “That’s not my style. I’m the young master of the

late meal as the shop was closing for the day.
