Chapter 2
When Liam retur sed that evening, it was half an hour after I regained consciousness.
I sat alone on the sofa, gripping the pregnancy test report tightly in my hand.
He looked exhausted, reeking of a strong woman’s perfume, with a glaring lipstick stain on his collar.
Even so, he raised an eyebrow at me, sticking, “What’s up, Claire? Why are you zoning out?”

But with me, he made no effort to hide.
Thinking of this, I tightened my grip on the pr

Liam didn’t seem to care about my silence. He chuckled and approached, pulling me into his arms as usual and attempting to kiss me.
But the next second, I slapped him hard.
The slap was loud and resounded sharply in the quiet room,
My voice was cold filled with hatred for his cavalier attitude toward relationships
“Are you not going to explain the wedding photos?”
I stared at him, my heart growing colder by the second.
He frose for a moment, lowered the hand covering his cheek, and instead of getting angry, he gave me a faint glance before calmly saying
“Marriage is just a performance for me. It won’t affect our relationship.”
“Since you already know, I won’t hide it anymore. Tell me, what do you want? F’ll buy it for you.”
The pain in my heart reached its peak, but I forced myself to stay strong.
“Liam, you know what I want.”
His expression darkened, and the carefree facade disappeared, replaced by irritation and exhaustion.
“Anything but a title–I can give you everything else.”
He spoke as if he were so noble

“So, you want me to be your mistress?”
Lam looked at me, his gaze uncharacteristically serious.
Our eyes met, utine full of resolve. If he denied it, I was ready to show him the pregnancy report.
He rubbed his nose, lowered his head, seeming deep in thought.
My heartbeat quickened as I stared at him, a sliver of hope igniting within me.
But in the end, he disappointed me.
He nodded and said, “Yes.”

What a decisive answer–he negated all our years of love and relegated me to the status of a mistress.
For the first time, I truly saw the man I had devoted myself to for so many years.

“If all you care about is profit, then spend your life with your profit.”
“Someone like you doesn’t deserve a family, let alone a child!”
I hid the pregnancy report behind me.
I already had my answer–this child wasn’t something he deserved to know about.
