Chapter 20
Chapter 20
Daniel Brown delayed for a long time but finally told his parents about the divorce.
His father was furious, saying he wanted to break his legs, while his mother, although trying to mediate, couldn’t help but scold him.
Daniel Brown knew he deserved it.
“Don’t drink anymore.” His mother took the bottle from his hands. “If you really regret it, why didn’t you think it through back then?”
Yeah, why didn’t he think things through back then?
anjel Brown wanted to ask his past self the same question.
But no one would give him that chance.
“Your father is so angry he says he doesn’t want to see you.” His mother wiped her tears secretly. “We were about to have a grandson, how did it end up like this?”
By the time Daniel Brown was discharged, Lily White had already moved her things out, leaving a note saying she wanted to sell the house, and the lawyer would discuss it with Daniel Brown.
As Daniel Brown packed up his things, his mother came to help and found Lily White’s emergency medical records, learning everything.
Daniel Brown lowered his head in silence, listening to his mother sobbing.
Anna Green came a few more times to pester him.
“You can’t do this to me. Daniel Brown, since you’ve divorced, why can’t we be together? You clearly still care about me.” Anna Green cried, her eyes
red.
Daniel Brown was impatient.
“Even if we’re divorced, what does that have to do with you? Anna Green, you need to understand, we clearly broke up a long time ago. There can’t be anything between us anymore. Don’t keep bothering me, or I’ll call the police.”
Anna Green stared at Daniel Brown in disbelief, asking,
“Then why did you agree to help me find a job? Why did you keep in contact with me? Why did you push Lily White away to comfort me? Why did you take me to look at the stars?”
“I did something stupid, I made a mistake. But that doesn’t mean there’s a chance for us. Do you understand?”
Anna Green’s lips trembled: “Daniel Brown…”
I can drink, business partners can’t refuse to drink, but I haven’t been feeling well recently, so I thought of replacing tea with alcohol, and Daniel Brown smiled as he spoke.
“Short–term, there should be no opportunities for Daniel Brown’s promotion.”
