Chapter 19
Daniel Brown got rid of Anna Green and returned to the hospital room with an unpleasant look.
When his friend came to visit, they cautiously asked, “Why are you divorcing Lily White?”
Daniel Brown smiled bitterly and replied, “She wants the divorce, not me.”
“Then why does she want the divorce?”
Daniel Brown couldn’t answer.
knew he had done some excessive things, but he still thought his actions weren’t that bad.
It wasn’t until Daniel Brown saw the abortion documents that he realized how much Lily White was suffering, and he started to reflect.
He knew Lily White was a sensitive person, someone who lacked a sense of security.
But he had concealed the fact that Anna Green was his ex–girlfriend with the hope it wouldn’t cause problems.
Maybe that’s exactly why he hid it.
Daniel Brown couldn’t differentiate.
He knew Lily White was hurt by her parents‘ relationship, yet he maliciously used that to hurt her.
He knew he was wrong but stubbornly refused to admit it.
He had been Lily White’s husband, yet he still abandoned her and went off with Anna Green.
Daniel Brown lay still on the hospital bed.
He realized he knew, deep down, why Lily White wanted the divorce.
Lily White had liked him; her eyes shone brightly when they got married, her smile was so obvious, and she radiated happiness.
But he took advantage of Lily White’s affection, disregarded her feelings, and betrayed her trust.
Af first, Daniel Brown thought Lily White was just throwing a tantrum.
But deep down, he knew he had already hurt her, he just wouldn’t admit it, wouldn’t lower his head.
He had convinced himself that he and Lily White could still fix things.
