I laughed out loud, and Anna Green’s smile froze on her face.
“What are you laughing at?” Anna Green shouted angrily, drawing the attention of several people nearby.
“First of all, the company isn’t mine, it’s my dad’s. I’m just a shareholder working there.” I smiled and met Anna Green’s gaze, “Daniel Brown and I signed a prenuptial agreement, and he can’t take anything from me in the divorce. And even if he could, why are you so sure he’d give it to you?”
“Lily White!”
Anna Green tried to make a move but was stopped by a hand, blood seeping from a needle hole. The smell of alcohol made me step back.
What are you doing?!”
Daniel Brown stepped in front of me, and I moved a few steps aside, distancing myself from him.
He saw my movement, and his face showed more sadness.
“I told you we shouldn’t have contact. How did you know I was here? Who told you?”
Anna Green’s eyes were full of panic, her voice pleading, “You’ve blocked my number, I had no choice but to ask them. You’re in the hospital and have no one to look after you, let me help.”
Daniel Brown quickly glanced at me and quietly shouted, “I don’t need you, leave now, don’t cause trouble here.”
“Daniel Brown, you’ve forgotten what we had back then…”
Daniel Brown directly interrupted her.
“We’ve been done for a long time, cleanly done, don’t bring up the past.”
Anna Green’s face turned pale.
“I’ve got things to do, I’m leaving, you guys talk slowly.”
I smiled and ignored Daniel Brown’s expression as if he was about to say something. I didn’t want to get tangled up in this, so I quickly left.
