She struggled against the hold, crying out loud, but no one listened to her. Two officers stepped forward to arrest Leo as well; however, his legal advisor saved him in time. Mr.
Grant materialized out of thin air and said,
“Mr. Leo has no connection to this attack. You can’t arrest him!”
Due to lack of evidence about his direct indulgence in the attack, Leo was able to save hist
sorry ass. But the aftermath of the dramatic logo–reveal event balanced this
disappointment.

This news became a top trend on every social media platform, newspapers were full of
articles against him. Some even dug up our past and published bizarre stories about qur
relationship, painting Leo as a Devil.
I thoroughly enjoyed these fireworks in the solace of my home, scrolling through the news all the time. My patience of five years has shown me this day. I waited and meticulously planned my revenge, outclassing the mastery of an evil man. It was the moment to celebrate my first victory.

Emptying my second glass, I agreed with Henry,
“And what about the claims of resolving the issue? Ugh! Bite me!”
According to my years of experience, Leo was a vengeful, mean spirit. He would prefer to die instead of asking for forgiveness because there was no word like ‘mistake‘ in his dictionary. He was a perfectionist. So, his calm and composed demeanor was hard to digest. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw his humble videos online.
Anyway, we ordered sushi and enjoyed our meal, joking about Leo’s grim future. Our dinner went smoothly, lightening the weight of responsibilities. But a strange thing happened later. The topic of discussion, Leo, took a humanoid shape and appeared before our sight when we were eating dessert.
I almost choked on my ice cream when that ice hockey star entered the glass doors and walked straight towards our table.

His boldness to come here and show his face skyrocketed Henry’s fury, I had to press his hand to calm him. Leo was a smart man, he chose to see us in public, avoiding any ugly confrontation. If we reacted violently, our bad behavior would benefit him in clearing his name. His media team would try their level best to portray him as Christ in these circumstances.

Cursing him inwardly, I admitted that my second rival was a worthy one. Leo was definitely up to some new shit as he spoke apologetically.

I had expected a cunning scheme or at least some sort of retaliation, but this one eighty–degree turn in Leo’s personality took me by surprise. He became a saint in such a short time.
The identical indifference on his face was gone, replaced by the gentleness of harmony. He looked like Buddha while saying
“You know that my ice hockey is everything for me, and the clear balance between my personal and professional life will take it to new heights this season.
However, I wish to repent, repaying you by sacrificing my stardom and fame.
You can treat me like an overlooked player for no matter how long you want.”
He ripped the papers of our former contract into two, bowing his head.
“Please give me a chance, Laura. I owe you big. Only you can be my salvation.”
I had dealt with cold Leo, loving Leo, egoistic, rude, and cheater Leo. But this modest Leo was over the cap, I couldn’t give him a befitting answer at once.
“I appreciate your willingness, Mr. Leo!”
Keeping my tone firm, I tried to sound nonchalant and got up.
“You took the initiative to voice your thoughts. Good!

without sparing a glance for him, I stormed out of the restaurant, this bitter end to in delightful evening ruined my mood. Henry followed me shortly after paying the bill, he was fuming in anger,
“Why did you give him hope, Laura?”
Racing the car at full speed, Henry banged his fist on the steering wheel.
“Whenever I see Leo, your tear–stricken face flashes across my eyes, Laura. You were like

That rascal has snatched you from me once, I won’t spare him now.”
Henry’s spiteful speech escalated quickly, converting into death threats. So, I requested him to relax.
“Melody attacked me with her goons and left me in the forest to die. I was only able to send her to jail because of your continuous support, Henry.
Please stay calm and don’t try anything stupid. We got this.”
Initially, I thought that Leo would resume his silly yet annoying tricks to pursue me like before. But this time, he changed his course of action in the following days.
He focused on Henry, moving around him 24/7, his desperate attempts to curry favor with him enraged my brother. Henry put up with his nosy behavior a few times, but soon, he ran out of patience.

Henry’s anger dissipated like sea’s foam; he was instantly curious to know more.
“But how did this happen?
The authorities weren’t clearing our orders, creating multiple legal and quality issues. I was asked to wait for at least a week to clear custom security.

His assistant’s elated tone helped me to assess the current situation, I chuckled at his unadulterated joy.
“It was because of Mr. Leo’s contacts in the industry, Sir. He pulled some strings in the overseas department and personally supervised the inspection. The officers cleared our
goods within one hour.
We are safe, Sir. Our order won’t be cancelled.”
Due to the ice hockey season, the supply and demand for sports goods was out of control. The companies were ready for carnage to get orders on fewer profits.
