Chapter 78
The tension seemed to thicken between Cyrus and Froste. Arthur seemed to have caught on as well as he watched the two men, his gaze flickering between them.
“I’ll protect Adella as much as I can.” Froste said, his tone clear and leaving no room for
doubt.
Cyrus however didn’t seem all that fazed by it. He folded his arms, sizing up Froste who was standing before him.
I knew he disliked Froste after everything that had happened at Galaxy Pack and to be honest, I didn’t blame him. Given the chance, I was sure my brothers would marvel at the chance of being left alone to do as they pleased with Froste.
Still, that wasn’t something I was looking forward to that much. Cyrus eyed him up and down a bit, his eyes narrowed into slits.
“And what if it’s beyond your ability?” he pressed on.
“I’ll protect her with my life. That’ll make up for the lack in my ability.” There was a tone of conviction in his voice as he continued to speak.
“It doesn’t matter what challenge comes up. I swear on my life to always protect and be there for her in whatever moment she needs me. And I promise never to doubt or mistrust
her again.”
The glint in his eyes as he said those words made me weird. I didn’t like how he was staring at me with so much intensity so I just turned away.
Cyrus hummed at his words, his aggressive stance dropping just a little. He looked friendlier compared to how he’d looked before.
“I’ll hold you on your words so you better not screw up.” Cyrus warned.
“I plan on keeping my promise.” Froste said confidently.
I glared at him, unable to hide my disdain or pretend I felt moved by his words. He had no

right to just come and play some prince charming after what he did.
There was no obligation stating that he had to swear himself to my protection. I wasn’t a child that needed saving. I could do everything for myself and I’d proved that well enough by even coming this far.
“I think that’s enough learning for today.” I said after a sigh.
They all turned to me. Cyrus seemed to nod in agreement while Froste simply watched me
silence. I didn’t even want to look in his direction so I just tried to focus on Cyrus.
“What other classes do you have?” he asked.
“None at the moment. My schedules‘ free for the rest of the day.”
“Well then,” Arthur turned to Cyrus and gestured with a nod. Cyrus took that as his cue and waved me goodbye.
“I’ll see you later, alright?” Cyrus smiled before leaving with Arthur.
That left me with Froste. Alone.
I wondered what was possibly going through his head as he just stood there. Once upon a time, those eyes had stared at me in irritation and disbelief, now he was looking at me like I’d hung up the stars.
I didn’t know whether that made me feel good or only added to my annoyance. His lips tugged back into a smile.
“So, would you like to continue your tour of the Academy?” He started.
“As much as I’d like that, I think I have enough false information for today.” I shook my
head.
Froste laughed. “I can tell you the real history. I’ve studied it all.”
My mind drifted to a time when we were still mates. Back at Galaxy Pack, we’d both been so busy with work and other things, barely having time to interact and spend moments with each other.

This could be an opportunity I’d missed in the past. A part of me was sceptical about agreeing to this but then again, it wasn’t like there was some other tour guide I could
choose.
