“During the auction, I slipped up while chatting with Madam Gray. She caught onto something I said, and now it’s very clear that Johnny has no interest in working with Wilson Tech anymore. Even if I took it to court and won, there’s no guarantee they wouldn’t create trouble later. Since they clearly don’t want to collaborate, I figured it’s better to end things early and find a new partner–it might not be such a bad thing.”
Franklin didn’t ask what exactly she had said that gave Madam Gray leverage. He simply responded, “Since you’ve decided, then terminate the contract. Do you need help with the termination fee?”
To be honest, Julia was tempted when she heard him say that.
But ever since her family had moved to the capital, Franklin had already done so much for her and her relatives.
If she kept relying on him financially and for connections, then no matter how talented or attractive she was, he’d eventually grow tired of her–it was just human nature.
She knew this all too well. That kind of dependency was a dead end.
So she replied, “No need. I can handle it myself.”
“Alright,” Franklin said, then added, “Now that the contract with Cole is canceled, you’ll need to find a new partner as soon as possible. Want me to take care of that?”
Julia had been in a pretty foul mood lately, especially after being played by Maggie and Johnny.
But hearing Franklin say that made her heart instantly warm, sweet waves rising inside her. Even her tone softened

Johnny and Maggie left the termination process entirely to their legal team.
When Julia received the termination clause from Cole, her brows furrowed at the sight of the penalty amount–over
