Chapter 22

She quickly flipped through their chat history and discovered that every morning. Isabella would actively send Julia a message to say good morning. They chatted every day, and for a long time

When she heard the elevator sound, Maggie pretended she hadn’t seen anything and placed the phone back in its original spot

Isabella grabbed her phone and, upon opening it, saw that Julia had replied. Julia mentioned that she couldn’t bear to be angry with her and hadn’t replied earlier because she was still half asleep

After reading Julia’s message, Isabella immediately smiled happily

Maggie, walking ahead, turned slightly and knew exactly what had made her so happy

Lost in her joy, Isabella didn’t notice Maggie glancing back

Once in the car, Isabella sat in the back, continuing to message Julia. Occasionally, she would steal a glance to see if Maggle was paying attention

Seeing that Maggie was focused solely on driving, she felt relieved

However, since the school was far away, after chatting with Julia for half an hour, she stopped

By this time, her mood had lifted, and she was ready to talk to Maggie

Mom, are you free this afternoon?”

Maggie didn’t turn around, What’s up?”

Isabella didn’t say directly, but playfully asked, What do you think?”

There’s a lot going on recently. I’m busy. Why?”

Isabella smiled brightly, NothingNothing at all.”

Since her mom was busy in the afternoon, she knew that meant her mom wouldn’t specially come to pick her up after school

Chapter 22

This meant she could go straight to find Julie after school without worrying about being caught by

her mom. Yay

At the school, Maggie chatted briefly with Isabella’s homeroom teacher before heading with her to

the classroom

As they reached the classroom door, a sweet little voice suddenly called out, Sister Magi

Maggie paused, and a small, soft figure suddenly rushed into her arms

Feating the child might fall, Maggie quickly bent down and caught her

When the child looked up, Maggie recognized her instantly, Tommy?”

The li

little girl was the one she had saved a few days ago, who almost got bitten by a dog

Mm!Tommy, with two cute little braids, was very rosy and adorable. Her smile was sweet and innocent, and she looked very wellbehaved

Maggie instinctively softened her voice and smiled, Tommy, are you studying here too?”

Ah!”

Before Maggle could finish her sentence, Isabella suddenly pushed Tommy away forcefully

Maggie quickly caught Tommy to stop her from falling. Tommy, are you okay?”

Tommy shook her head, looking upset as she glared at Isabella, confused as to why she had pushed her, Whywhy did you push me?”

Isabella had initially not realized that the little girl had rushed into Maggie’s arms. But seeing how familiar they seemed with each other, and noticing that Maggie hadn’t let go of the girl, her

expression soured

Seeing Tommy about to cry from the fall, Isabella sneered, So delicate, so pink and soft. Ugly and disgusting!”

Tommy was sweetlooking, adorable, and her outfit was ageappropriate she was someone everyone would want to hug and kiss

Nothing about her seemed ugly or disgusting

Mr. (To Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long

She had always been praised for her looks, and this was the first time anyone had said such a thing

to her

Tommy immediately burst into tears and clung to Maggie, refusing to let go

Maggie quickly soothed her, No, Tommy, you’re not disgusting at all. You’re actually beautiful and cute. Don’t you think so?”

Tommy’s mood improved a little after hearing this, but before she could speak, Isabella, still seeing

aggle holding Tommy and praising her for being cute, immediately teared up

You. I don’t like you anymore! I don’t want you to be my mom!“

With that, she tried to run away

Maggie quickly reached out and stopped her

Her words had taken Maggie by surprise

Although Isabella was angry, Maggie didn’t want to scold her in front of everyone and embarrass

her
