Chapter 210: Facts and Truth
Upon hearing it, Agatha felt as though the voice had penetrated deep into her very soul, making her unable to resist the urge to speak.
At the scene, no one was aware that Agatha had already been hypnotized, including Agatha herself, who had not realized it.
Unbeknownst to her, she had become, in an intangible way, a puppet controlled by Charlotte.
“I…” Agatha’s mouth slightly opened, her gaze deep and devoid of any emotion, “No.”
Finally, she uttered the two words, “No.”
hat’s going on?” The old man furrowed his brows upon hearing this. “Why are you changing your statement again? Is it or isn’t it?”
Chester’s eyes trembled, his expression shifting slightly. Agatha’s sudden change of statement had caused many people present to change their expressions.
“If it’s not Edward, then who is it?” Charlotte continued to fix her gaze on Agatha’s eyes, posing the next question.
Agatha fell silent for a moment. Then, her mouth opened with a somewhat stiff expression, “It’s… Chester Bellerose.”
Chester?!
The old man and the old lady’s faces froze instantly. Mason’s family also stared in disbelief, while Chester himself looked at Agatha with a shocked
expression.
Impossible. How could she recognize him?!
In the entire room, only Charlotte remained incredibly calm. This was the answer she had anticipated.
If Agatha refused to speak, she would induce her through hypnosis. Charlotte knew that Agatha must know something and was likely hiding something. If she could get her to speak, the truth might come closer to the surface.
Unexpectedly, she had guessed correctly.
Agatha indeed knew everything.
A surge of anger welled up in Charlotte’s heart.
“Since you know that the person who coerced you was not Edward but Chester, why did you lie just now? No, you’ve been lying from the beginning. Pointing out Edward at the police station was one of your lies!”
As Agatha listened to Charlotte’s words, her lips involuntarily curled, and she responded with a blank expression, “Yes, I lied. Although I found Edward’s school badge at the scene and surveillance footage confirmed his presence, I knew that person wasn’t him.”
At this point, a hint of pain briefly flickered across Agatha’s face. “His aura was off, something felt wrong, and his body shape didn’t match… The person that night couldn’t have been Edward. Moreover, that person had been drinking, reeking of alcohol, but I know that Edward doesn’t drink.”
Charlotte, upon hearing this, felt a sense of curiosity. Why did this Agatha seem to know her own brother so well?
“So, why did you lie?” Charlotte pursed her lips and continued to ask.
“Why…” Agatha repeated those three words with empty eyes, then a chilling smile formed at the corner of her mouth. “Because I like him. However, he doesn’t know me. Sometimes he comes to the supermarket to buy drinks, and every time he does, I secretly observe him. So, I know him very well…”
“That person from that night, how could it possibly be Edward? If it were him, I would definitely recognize him. If it were him, I wouldn’t have struggled.”
With these words, everyone was once again astonished.
Who could have imagined that Agatha, who had pointed her finger at Edward and sent him to the police station, would actually have feelings for Edward?! This was such a bizarre twist!
“But I also hate him!” Suddenly, Agatha’s tone shifted, her voice turning cold and stern. “I hate that he never even glanced at me. I hate that he didn’t

even bother to open and read my love letter, but instead, he just threw it in the trash! I really hate him. Since I can’t have him, I’ll send him to his destruction!”
As she spoke, Agatha had a hint of gritted teeth.
Charlotte looked at this girl with a stern expression, her gaze icy, and her fingers tightened.
Was it because of such a ludicrous and absurd reason that she disregarded the facts and pushed Edward into the abyss? Is this what love is? What a ridiculous, selfish, and extremely obsessive love! Destroying someone because you can’t have them?!
“Then how can you be sure that the person from that night was Chester?” Charlotte forcibly suppressed her anger, as she still had more questions to
ask.
“On that night, amidst the chaos, I took a business card from that man’s pocket… a business card with Chester’s name written on it,” Agatha said with
expressionless face.
“You? you’re talking nonsense!” Chester was completely flustered now, his palms sweating, “If you had a business card, why didn’t you show it from the beginning? You handed over Edward’s school badge early on… bringing up the business card now is too late!”
Agatha remained cold and silent, not responding to him. Because at this moment, Agatha only listened to Charlotte’s words. She would only respond to Charlotte’s questions.
“Where is the business card?” Charlotte squinted her eyes and asked.
The business card…” Agatha spoke in a soft tone, “Of course, I’ve kept it safe. Initially, I wasn’t sure if that man was really Chester. After all, a business card doesn’t prove much. It was only today when I saw him in person. At the first glance, I was sure it was him. There’s no mistaking it.”
After Agatha finished speaking, Charlotte immediately turned to look at the others with cold and piercing eyes. “I believe the witness’s testimony is quite clear…”
“Did you bribe her?!” Jane suddenly screamed, refusing to believe that her son was the true culprit. “This can’t be, it can’t be!”
On the side, Mason’s face couldn’t have looked worse. His face seemed as if it had turned into a piece of black iron, his lips tightly sealed, unable to
utter a word.
As for Chester, he was completely dumbfounded. He stood there, frozen, his entire body stiff. He never expected the situation to take such a sudden and drastic turn, leading to the current predicament.
Chandler and the two sisters were equally in shock and disbelief.
Afatha, of all people, started with an enormous lie!
Could it be that Edward was truly wrongfully accused?!
“Are you certain that what you’re saying is the truth? With all these changes in your story, I’m not sure whether to believe you,” the old man furrowed his brows and spoke sternly to Agatha.
Agatha naturally couldn’t respond to him.
Charlotte, however, let out a soft laugh, turned to the old man, and said in a cold tone, “She pointed at Edward, and you unquestionably believed her. Now, she points at Chester, and you say you don’t know whether to believe her… Grandfather, you’re quite the double standard.”
“You!” The old man was rendered speechless by Charlotte’s rebuttal, his face showing a stormy rage.
Charlotte took a step forward, her gaze as sharp as a blade, piercing directly at Chester. “I suggest you go to the police station and confess directly. I’ve already recorded everything Agatha said with my audio recorder, and I’ll submit it to the police later.”
What?! Charlotte had an audio recorder ready!
