Grant left, dejected. He remembered our first meeting. That was a full moon night. I was holding a dying kitten,
desperately seeking help.
Finally, someone told me there was a late–night pet hospital. I bumped into him as I rushed to that pet hospital. I kept apologizing and he saw the dying kitten in my arms. Knowing what was going on, he
joined me.
Unfortunately, we failed to rescue
that kitten. He gave me a tissue when I
was crying.
Perhaps that was why I fell in love
with him. Later, I kept asking him out but
he never agreed. I used every trick in the

daughter, content. I poked him.
“What’s her name?”

“Still thinking. Grandpa decides the given name, we decide the nickname. What do you think?”
I nodded, then asked about the
nickname. He shook his head.“My
parents said I sucked on this. So, it’s up to
you.”
I was curious.“Why would they say
that? Tell me about the names you
offered.”
“Mary, Lucy, Amy.”
I know he was waiting for me to side
with him, but I couldn’t.“Let’s call her Lily.”
