<Till death do we part) Chapter 24

Sera and Liam attended Jax’s funeral. They stood there quietly and watched
the mournerspay their respects. Then, it was their turn.
Sera approached Jax’s grave. The photo on the tombstone was a smiling
young man, full of hope. Memories flooded her mind.
When he was 6, she was abandoned by her parents and he said he would
never leave her alone.
When he was 16, he told her he loved her.
When he was 22, he proposed and begged her to be with him forever.
When he was 23, he cheated on her.
When he was 24, he lost her forever.
He died at 25.
Her hatred faded. He was just a part of her past. Weeks later, Sera attended
another funeral- Rylee’s. Learning of Jax’s death, Rylee fell into a great panic.
Stress and worry drove her to psychosis and eventually to suicide. Since their
divorce wasn’t finalized, Rylee was buried beside Jax.
Sera found it ironic. They’d finally been reunited.

She and Liam returned to Italy. She rested in Liam’s arms, watching TV. He
held her hand, watching her with worry. She’d been listless since their return.
To make her happy, he took her on trips- lavender fields, ski slopes, maple
leaf avenues. At last nature healed her. She turned to him, her hand in his,
smiling. She’d decided to move on.
On Fifth Avenue, at sunset, she kissed him.“Liam, marry me.‘
A year later, they married. Sera walked down the aisle in a white dress, her
tears falling as she exchanged vows with Liam.
“Sera, thank you for marrying me.”
“Liam, thank you for loving me and giving me a home.”
They kissed, as bells chimed.
Their life after marriage did not change much. She would still see him
smiling at her the first moment she opened her eyes. And she would still get a
good–night kiss from him before she went to sleep.
It was a new, happy start.
The End.
