Liam stifled a laugh, taking a sip of tea.“You guys hit the headlines again?”
Rylee was not in the VIP ward so many people saw her fight with Jax and even
shared videos.
Damon rubbed his temples, exhausted. Ever since he took over as CEO, Jax
and Rylee had been getting him into trouble. “I’ll send them back to their own
places once they wake up.” His mother had protested until he threatened to cut
off their financial support.
“I’ll release a statement saying Jax and his wife have nothing to do with the
Landrys anymore.” He refused to be their babysitter.
Liam didn’t press. He just texted Sera. He missed her so much.
Three months later, Sera reunited with Liam. They hugged, then Sera
smiled.“It’s been a while.”
“Yeah,” Liam replied, holding her hand. They walked towards the airport,
unaware of someone watching them. It was Jax’s sister, Avery.

Soon, Damon called her and said casually, “If you want what’s best for Jax,
don’t send this video to him.”
Avery bit her lip, looking hesitant. After all, that was her half–brother. She
didn’t want him to wallow in fantasy. Therefore, she sent Jax the video and left.
In the car, Liam had been telling Sera funny stories about these days. When
they arrived at Liam’s house, his phone rang.
Liam’s face hardened as he talked. Then, he looked at Sera and hugged her
tightly, his voice trembling.
“Sera, he…he knows you’re alive…”
Sera looked at him, knowing who he was talking about.“And so?”
Liam kissed her forehead.“Don’t worry. He can’t find you. Damon’s keeping
him locked up. And he can’t go far with a broken leg.” Liam smiled coldly. “Avery
took a video of us and sent it to Jax despite Damon’s warning.”

He had never accepted that Serenity died. Even though he saw her body with
his own eyes and scattered her ashes to the sea, he felt that she was still alive. He
drank all day long and finally found someone who looked exactly like her. Then,
he began to make up false stories to deceive himself.
It wasn’t until he saw the video Avery sent him that his heart finally came to
life and he stepped out of his fantasy. He didn’t know how Serenity faked her
death and escaped to Italy. All he knew was that she was still alive! He was so
excited that he couldn’t wait to see her.
He wanted to tell her how much he missed her. He had never stopped loving
her! He wanted to propose again!
But the bodyguards stopped him, like a wall.
Then, Damon came and punched him in the face.“Enough! Avery told you
Serenity was alive to get you out of your fantasy, not to find her! Think about
what you’ve done. Do you think she’ll forgive you? Don’t you realize why would
she fake her death? Jax, shame on you!”
One punch after another, Damon severely beat the man in front of him with
disgust in his eyes. He hated Jax because Jax said he loved Serenity while sleeping
with other women; he hated Jax because Jax did nothing but drink when the
company’s stock tanked.

Jax didn’t have the strength to fight back. He was curled up on the ground in
a sorry state, blood spilling from the corner of his mouth. Damon told the
bodyguards to watch him and then turned away.
Jax was left alone in the empty ward. He could not stand the pain and
moaned out loud. Tears of regret blurred his vision, suddenly he remembered
the serious car accident he had had. At that time, Serenity didn’t sleep for three
days and stayed by his side until he woke up. Everyone said she was a great girl
and told him to cherish her.
But he still lost her. He became addicted to infidelity after a one–night
stand with Rylee. He enjoyed banging Rylee so much that he didn’t let her abort
the baby when he found out she was pregnant. He had even thought about
continuing the affair after he got married.
However, Serenity was not a fool, and Rylee was a greedy woman. The
former faked her own death to get away from him, the latter did everything she
could to marry him and share his money.
He covered his face in pain and sobbed silently. No one in the world would
love him like Serenity had.
