(Till death do we part) Chapter 2

Seeing those pictures, Serenity thought of the day Jax’s father cheated when
she was in high school. Jax’s mom was devastated and Jax was firmly on her side.
He said to his dad, “If you can’t control your penis, you might as well be a eunuch!”
That was when she fell for him. A man like that was worthy of her love.
His love didn’t wane after he was with her; it had intensified. He kept a
detailed journal about her, remembered her period, knew her every whim, and
his social media posts were all about her. He even took part in a dangerous race-
car competition for her! His friends all said he was hopelessly devoted to her.
At the engagement, Serenity warned him, “If you ever betray me, I’ll
disappear forever, and you’ll never find me.” He was so frightened that he kept
making promises and swearing while hugging her tightly. However, the man
who begged her not to leave was also the man who had broken his promises. So it
was time for her to leave.
She wiped away her tears. Then, she heard the screech of tires. A tall man
came out of the car and rushed towards her.
“Serenity! I thought we were going to take wedding photos! What are you
doing here alone?”
He took her hand, finding it cold. Then, he shrugged off his jacket, wrapping
it around her.

Serenity said nothing, just looked at him. His concern and love seemed
genuine, yet she couldn’t understand how one heart could be divided in two.
He pulled her closer, ready to get in the car. Then, two girls approached,
their eyes shining with excitement.
“Are you… Serenity and Jax? Can we get a picture? Huge fans!”
Serenity nodded. The girls squealed with delight, surrounding them. Jax,
though not a fan of taking photos, obliged. As they left, the girls thanked them
profusely, wishing them a lifetime of happiness.
Happiness? Serenity looked at Jax. Their eyes met; his arm tightened around
her, as if echoing the girls‘ wish. There was obvious love in his eyes. But with a
third person involved, would they really be happy?
They arrived the bridal shop. As soon as Serenity got out of the car, the
clerks, who had been waiting for a long time, walked up to greet them. There was
a touch of envy in their tone.
“Ms. Hayes, Mr. Landry has specially arranged a thousand wedding photo
programs for you. You can tell us which one you like and get started at any time.”
Serenity looked at Jax, who was engrossed in his phone. There was intense
lust in his eyes- she had seen it only in the pictures she received from that

actress. Noticing her gaze, he quickly put away his phone with a guilty look on
his face.
“Serenity, I’m sorry. There’s sudden emergency at work. Why don’t you do
the solo shots and then have the driver take you home?”
He kissed her forehead, then hurried off in another car, leaving her alone.
“Ms. Hayes, shall we start with the solo shots?” the staff member asked
tentatively.
Serenity nodded.“Let’s do it.”
After all, their wedding would also be her funeral. She needed a
“posthumous photograph“.
