Chapter 6
-Pardes Miller finally used his strong will to knock over the water glass on the bedside table.
The water spilled all over his face and body, soaking the bandages that covered his wounds.
I quickly rushed to help him wipe it off, apologizing as I turned to them,
**You see, he gets upset when it comes to money. If I accepted compensation, he’d probably get angry at me. I can’t bring myself to take anything from them!
I said this out loud, but secretly, I was using all my strength to hold down Pardes, who was struggling with his rising anger.
Seeing how magnaniments he was, they didn’t dare to persuade me further and reluctantly left.
As they were leaving, I overheard one of the officers muttering. “This is the easiest case I’ve ever mediated.”
Once they were gone, I immediately let go of Pardes.
However, I didn’t gauge the force properly, and he stumbled, collapsing onto the bed, his chest rising and falling in frustration.
“Are you happy now, my dear husband? I’ve taken all your lessons to heart. Isn’t this magnanimous enough?”
You don’t have to worry al
rry about me secretly calling the police. I fully understand you now!”
See? People never realize the pain until it happens to them!
When Loopy suffered, he didn’t feel a thing, using her suffering as a stepping stone for his own gain.
But when it came to his own injuries, he rushed to find the police and file a case.
How could the world be so simple?
When Mr. Smith received Pardes’s letter of understanding, he couldn’t believe it.
Could Pardes still have a hidden card up his sleeve?!
Under pressure from his leadership, Mr. Smith still brought a bouquet of flowers to visit Pardes in the hospital.
But he had a plan in mind.
When Mr. Smith arrived with a group of reporters, Pardes was struggling with a physiological issue.
L
Given his current injuries, he couldn’t get out of bed. I had only hired a nurse for one hour a day to help with his basic needs due to the high medical
expenses.
But of course, today the nurse was late, and instead, I brought in the culprit, Mr. Smith, along with a group of reporters.
The reporters, armed with cameras, immediately began snapping pictures of Pardes, whose face was flushed red from the discomfort.
“Look, honey, who’s here? Mr. Smith, the supervisor from your company, has come to see your
1 deliberately emphasized “Mr. Smith,” watching as Pardes’s face turned even paler.
Mr. Smith had already adopted the air of a supervisor. He smiled as he placed the bouquet on Pardes’s bedside.
Pardes immediately started coughing uncontrollably, almost unable to hold it in.
“Oh to. I’ve been so busy these days that I forgot my husband is allergic to pollen! Let me move it away!“
I quickly grabbed the bouquet and moved it away–don’t kill him off so quickly!
Mr. Smith’s face showed more guilt. “I’m so sorry, Pardes. I was too impulsive before. You were upset about not getting the supervisar position, and it was natural for you to come find me to vent. I didn’t expect you to be so weak and get hurt so badly.

“Luckily, you’re a generous person and didn’t hold it against me. I supervisor!
Pardes was seething with frustration.
I looked at his face and spoke.
Don’t worry, when you recover, I’ll apply to Mr. White to make you the assistant
“Mr. Smith, please don’t say that! A little scuffle between colleagues is totally normal. How could people work together without some friction? Pardes already let it go, and besides, it was him who initiated the conflict. There’s no reason for you to apologizer
Mr. Smith pulled out a thick red envelope, “Well then, at least accept this as a token of my apology?”
1 quickly waved my hand.
bsolutely not! This is just a small injury, there’s no need for such compensation. It might look serious now, but it’s almost healed. It’s just that his volal cords aren’t fully recovered, so he can’t speak properly. Please don’t worry!”
Pardes was so frustrated he couldn’t speak “You’re something else!”
I smiled, “See? Just like this!”
Mr. Smith sneered,
“Well, now I’m relieved. Even though I received your letter of understanding. I still felt uneasy. Now that I can see with my own eyes that Pardes truly forgives me, the weight in my heart has been lifted
“Oh, by the way, these reporters are here because they’ve heard about your generous nature interview you, Pardes. You don’t mind, do you?!”
e and are so impressed. They specifically came to
