Chapter 12
“What will you do? I interrupted Ponto Spencer’s words.
Ponto snorted coldly. Everyone knows we’re divorced, but they don’t know the real reason. Do you really believe I won’t tell everyone that you cheated, that you got pregnant before we married, and I had no choice but to divorce your after tolerating it all?”
I shrugged. “I don’t care…
Ponto, however, sat down by himself, continuing
“You might not care, but I’ve been married to you long enough to know what matters to you most. It’s your family. Do you really want to shame them?
you want your parents, at their age, to have their reputation ruined because of you?”
I know I didn’t need to explain myself to Ponto anymore.
After all, we were divorced.
But he wasn’t wrong, and I understood the damage rumors could do to a woman’s reputation, especially someone like me who came from money.
Even if I could clarify the situation later, who would believe me?
I could remain unmarried, but I couldn’t accept my parents and brothers being dragged through the mud because of me. With that thought, I sighed “Well, why don’t you watch this before you decide?”
I pulled out my phone. “This is the footage from the day I came to pick up my things–it’s a video of Fenny Chow in the walk–in closet. It’s the moment she slapped herself.”
The video clearly showed Tenny’s snug face as she proudly said to me,
“Such a simple lie, and Ponto Spencer believed it. This just proves there was no real love between you two. Since there was no love, then why not let me become Mrs. Spencer?”
“Right, you’ve never had children, and you’ve never cheated. Hut so what? History is written by the victors. Whoever holds the power makes the rules.”
Pouto watched the video in silence, his face turning an ashen shade. He said nothing and stormed out.
