Chapter 7
As I expected, Ponto furrowed his brows, unsure of what to say. Fenny’s face immediately darkened. She seemed to have given up on everything as she began packing her bags
“I’m leaving now.” She snapped, slinging her bag over her shoulder, but Ponto didn’t stop her.
Before she left, she turned back suddenly. “Mr. Spencer, I’m leaving, but I hope you don’t keep falling for lies.”
“Your wife didn’t just have children before she married you. In the last six months, while you’ve been away, she’s been frequently seeing other ment
“Every time she comes home, she’s covered in hickeys. I know it sounds unbelievable, but I have proof. You can check it out for yourself.”
Wah that, she took out her phone and showed us pictures of me looking intimate with other men. I didn’t even need to take a second look–I knew these photos were fake.
I rolled my eyes. “Fenny, you think I’m stupid? You just want to get close to Ponto so you can take my place. Why make up lies so easily?”
She pointed to the slap mark on her face. “If that’s the case, then why did you slap me? Why did you fire me?”
“When did I slap you?” I asked, confused.
Fenny sneered but didn’t answer.
Instead, she pulled out some bank transfer records. These transfers, beyond my salary, were sent to me by you. They’re proof you’ve been paying me to help you cover up your secrets.”
“You’re right,” she continued, “I do love Mr. Spencer. But unlike you. I’m not just after his money. You said so yourself–‘I married him for the money.”
I stared at her in disbelief, remembering the casual remark I had once made. I had no idea it would come back to haunt me like this.
