Yuri’s face went palle in an instant. She grabbed James’s hand. “Quick, take out the ticket and check it. Yours w
was a lucky find, but what if it’s fake?”
James frowned deeply and made a move as if to pull the ticket from his pocket, but Linda immediately stopped him. “James, can’t you see? She’s doing this on purpose.”
“Doing what on purpose?” I said, pretending to be confused. “I’m just trying to remind you kindly.”
Linda sneered. “You just want to grab the ticket or tear it up when James pulls it out, don’t you? The lottery ticket is anonymous, and if it gets damaged, it’s not refundable. You just want to make James Jose everything. Don’t think I don’t see through your plan.”

“I’m really disappointed in you. They say when someone gets promoted and wealthy, their wife dies. I’ve got the wealth now. You didn’t die, but I’m finally rid of you.”
“You’d better disappear from my life starting now. Be a proper ex–wife–better off as if you’re dead.”
“Oh, and if you’re really dying of some terminal illness, don’t even think about coming to me. I won’t give you a single penny. I’ll just laugh as I watch you breathe your last.”
