Chapter 4
After a brief silence, Jack’s voice turned cold.
“Evelynn, let me make this clear–Eve never had a mistress.”
“Today is our engagement banquet. You’d better not cause any trouble or test my li
my limits?
“And another thing–my daughter skipped her exam today just to attend this event. She should he arriving after class. T
Today will be the first time you meet her, so go outside and greet her properly”
Jacy had already slashed several bloody marks across my face. I was tortured to the point of wishing for death, my body drenched in blood. Evelynn’s
Lives, meanwhile, were furling the fire, urging them to strip me of what little clothing had left.
Lucy–wiped the sweat off her fare and quickly instructed Evelynn, “Go outside and wait for your daughter.”
“She’s the future heir of the Terres Group, raised by Jack himself. Until you’ve had a son, you need to leave a good impression on her.
Evelynn nodded, composed herself, and walked to the lobby entrance.
Meanwhile. I was dragged into a corner. Despite my miserable condition, Evelynn’s family still wasn’t ready to let me go.
Every relative of Evelynn’s seemed to be here today, gathered around Lucy, showering her with praise.
“Evelynn has always stood out, even as a child. I knew she was destined for greatness. And lock–she’s marrying into the Torres family!”

Everyone nodded enthusiastically
Suddenly, someone noticed something sticking out of my nearby backpack
“What’s that?”
Lucy, sharp eyed and quick, snatched up the bag and pulled out a photograph.
It was a picture taken on my 18th birthday, showing the villa my dad had bought me as a coming of age gift.
Lucy’s expression darkened as she examined it. “This photo… Is that Rivera Sea, the most expensive neighborhood in the city?”
Someone gasped. “Rivera Sea? I’ve heard of it. The houses there are all luxurious villas and cost a fortune.”
Lucy erupted with anger.
She glared at me, shouting loudly enough for everyone to hear. “Unbelievable! You filthy tramp–how dare you con a villa out of Jack?”
“Don’t even think about keeping it
With that, Lucy ripped the photo into pieces in front of everyone and delivered a hard slap to my face.
