Chapter 10
Ethan: “Mom, Dad, I have a girlfriend.”
Cindy: “Where’s she from? Do her parents have jobs? Don’t bring anyone home if her
family’s not up to par.”
than: “Mom, Dad, Yvonne and I got married!”
Cindy: “Great! At least we saved on the bride price.”
Cindy: “Ethan, hurry up and have her give us a healthy grandson.”
Ethan: “Mom, Dad, I have some thoughts about the wedding.”
Cindy: “What do you know? Weddings are handled by the older generation. It’s not for you
to have a say.”
Samuel: “Listen to your

Ethan: “Mom, the bride price seems a bit low. Can we add a little more?”
Cindy: “Do you have money? You just graduated, haven’t even started earning, and you’re already making demands? Do you want us to go broke trying to get you married?”
Ethan: “But you have several gold bars locked up in your safe…”
Samuel: “Yvonne’s family doesn’t seem that well off. Didn’t you look into this beforehand?
@Ethan.”
Ethan: “I like her for who she is, I don’t care about all that.”
Cindy: “Looks don’t put food on the table! Stop associating with her family. Marrying someone like her just drags you down.”
Ethan: “Mom, Yvonne and I want to buy a car. It’ll make it easier for me to visit her parents.”
Cindy: “We don’t have money for that.”

Ethan: “We’ve saved enough ourselves, just letting you know.”
Ethan: “I’m so excited! We’re about to join the car–owning club!”
Cindy: “You’re hardly home, why do you need a car? It’ll just sit there collecting dust. Besides, your dad already has a car, isn’t that enough?”
Ethan: “Yvonne’s home, though. Dad takes the car to work. When I’m not around, it’s hard for Yvonne to visit her family without one.”
Cindy: “She stays home all the time, why does she need to visit her family so often? Is she taking our stuff to give to them? You better watch her closely, silly boy.”
Cindy: “Ethan, why don’t you leave the money with me for safekeeping? I’ll give it back when the time is right, so Yvonne doesn’t waste it all.”
Ethan: “You said that before. But whether it’s my comic books or toys, everything you’ve ‘kept safe‘ for me has disappeared.”
Cindy: “Ethan, your sister’s about to graduate and wants to buy a car. I figured since your money’s just sitting here, why not let her use it first?”
Emily: “Thanks, Ethan!”
Samuel: “Ethan, where are you? Are you
home?”
Emily: “Didn’t he go out drinking with friends?”
Cindy: “Oh, right, yeah. Let’s call it a night!”
Emily: “It’s so annoying. Whenever she’s home, we can’t even talk freely and have to use WhatsApp. We’ll kick her out eventually.”
Cindy: “I’ve never liked her. Does someone as poor as her deserve to buy a car? Find brother a new wife at school.”

Emily: “Hahaha, I was thinking the same thing. Just wait!”
After reading this, I actually started feeling a bit sorry for Ethan, passed out on the living room couch.

He’s home, but his family doesn’t even notice.
Compared to him, I’m much better off. I guess this is karma for the wicked.
I sent the video I recorded to my family’s legal team.
Then I picked up my phone, ready to launch my counterattack!
