Chapte 7
him’s
My mother–in–law clutched her head in pain, afraid I might actually drag Davon to the hospital and expose the lie. She tried to change the subject.
“Honey”
Davon called out, but his mother shot him a sharp look.
immediately suppressed his anger, forcing a smile.
“Sweetheart, I know you’re doing this for me, but next time, can we discuss things first?”
“I know I was wrong, and next time I’ll consult with you first.”
I nodded obediently.
Davon had lost a high–paying, prestigious job, and for days, his mood remained sour. He seemed intent on giving me the silent treatment.
But I grew suspicious, wondering if his illness was a lie or if the diagnosis was wrong. I wa: determined to drag him to a different hospital for a second opinion.
Davon, already feeling guilty, soon stopped giving me the cold shoulder. In fact, he treated me better, even playing the role of a good father in front of Rainie.
To maintain his act, Davon and his mistress came up with a plan.
They decided that divorce could no longer be delayed, so he began swallowing various pills in front of me.
To make it more convincing, the medicine bottle clearly said it was for cancer treatment, but the pills inside were secretly replaced with vitamins and supplements.
I knew what he was doing but pretended I didn’t.
One day, I suddenly received a phone call.
It was the doctor from the hospital, urging me to persuade my husband to go for treatment.
Chapter 7
The doctor was kind and clearly worried, fearing that Davon might miss his final chance for
treatment.
“…Doctor, it’s not that I haven’t tried, he just won’t listen to anything I say. He thinks
treatment will be a burden to the whole family. Maybe if I hand the phone to him, you can persuade him directly.”
“By the way, Ringo is his friend. He might listen to him. Just mention his name.”
st then, Davon walked in.
“Who are you talking to?”
I handed him the phone. “It seems to be a doctor sent by Ringo, trying to convince you to
get treatment.”
Davon’s eyes flickered with confusion, followed by a sudden realization.
He probably thought this doctor was an actor sent by Ringo to help him maintain the lie in
front of me.
That was exactly my plan. If any more calls came through, it would risk exposing the truth, so I figured I might as well let him refuse the treatment himself, and the matter would end
there.
As the doctor earnestly advised him to get treatment, even invoking his friend Ringo’s name, Davon angrily shouted, refusing to listen.
“I’m choosing to forgo treatment. Continuing with it will just burden the family. Stop talking. I’ve made up my mind.”
He hung up the phone and handed it back to me.
I asked one last time.
“Honey, are you really sure? Isn’t it too early to give up?”
Davon shook his head, his lips curling into a brief smile that he quickly suppressed.
“It’s fine, Avni. I’ve made up my mind. You know how much treatment will cost and how

many people will be burdened. It’s better to save that money for you and the kids.”
“Honey…”
I called out to him with heartfelt emotion, feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude.
That day, I uploaded a new video.
Facing the camera, tears silently streamed down my face. I took a moment to calm myself,”
ruggling to control my trembling voice.
Though my voice shook, it was still clear enough for my fans to hear.
“These past days, I’ve been trying to convince him to go to the hospital, but no matter what I said, he was adamant about refusing.”
“I’m wondering if I’ve been too forceful, not respecting his own wishes.”
“So, from today on, I’ve decided to respect his decision and be there for him, to help him make the most of his final days.”
My fans were moved, flooding the screen with messages of encouragement.
Some fans even messaged me privately to offer comfort.
“Sis, you’ve done everything you can. Please respect your husband’s wishes.”
“Sis, last time you quit his job for his health, and even got hurt in the process. We all understand. Please let go, respect his wishes! You’ve already done so much!”
