Lena POV
“Excuse me,” I called out as he emerged from the water, shaking droplets from his hair. “Do you know Lorelei?”
The man nodded with a smile. “Of course. Everyone here knows her. She even gave me some swimming tips once. She’s incredible in the water.”
My heart sank at his words, but then he added something that made my breath catch.
“She wasn’t always like that, though,” he said thoughtfully.
