Alpha’s Redemption The Rise of the Rejected Luna 55

Chapter 55

With Silas out of the way for now, I stepped into the role of Luna to help stabilize the pack

The members were confused and uneasy after all the chaos, so I made it my duty to restore a sense of calm. It wasn’t hard for me

After all, I had been Luna before, back when I was Rowena. Managing pack affairs felt like second nature to me, even after all these years

But this time, I wasn’t just helping. I was planning. Quietly, I began placing Branwen’s loyal people into key positions within the pack’s leadership

They followed my orders without question, blending in seamlessly. As they gained more control, so would I.

on, I wouldn’t just be helping to run the pack, I would be running it entirely

And when that day came, I would have as much power as Silas ever did, maybe even more

Even though everything was going according to plan, I didn’t take any chances

I made it a point to visit Silas in the basement regularly. Each visit was a careful move

I needed to keep him calm, make him believe I was still on his side, and ensure he didn’t start questioning anything

If he sensed even the slightest hint of betrayal, the whole plan could fall apart

Today was no different. With a tray of food in hand, I made my way down to the dimly lit basement

The air grew heavier with each step, and as I reached the door, I hesitated before unlocking it

The moment the door creaked open, a wave of foul stench hit me like a punch to the face

I stumbled back slightly, my stomach churning at the unbearable smell

Ugh, that smell!I exclaimed, quickly covering my nose and mouth with one hand, the food tray wobbling in my other hand as I fought to keep from gagging

Taking a deep breath through my mouth, I stepped inside. Silas sat on the cold, damp floor, his back against

His clothes were a mess, wrinkled, stained, and worn down from days of neglect

His face was covered in daysold stubble, his eyes dark and sunken

the crumbling wall

He looked like a different person, the oncepowerful Alpha now reduced to a broken shell. Despair hung in the air like a heavy fog

I’m sorry,he muttered, his voice hoarse. There’s nothing I can do. Ithere’s no bathroom down here. What do you expect me to do?”

I placed the tray on a rickety table and stepped back, still holding my nose to block out the stench

I glanced at him, making sure to hide my discomfort, and spoke softly. I know, Silas. But right now, there’s nothing I can do about it.”

I paused, letting the words settle before continuing. This is the only place where you’re safe.”

My voice lowered slightly, adding a sense of urgency

If anyone found youI let the sentence hang in the air, letting the unspoken fear linger between us

The consequences of discovery were too terrible to say aloud

Silas ran a hand through his messy hair, his fingers tangling in the knots. His gaze lifted to meet mine, and in his eyes, I saw nothing but exhaustion and helplessness

Lorelei, how much longer?he whispered, his voice cracking. How much longer do I have to stay down here? I can’t take it anymore.”

His chest rose and fell with shallow breaths, his body trembling with the strain

Chapter 55

The smell, the darkness, the loneliness, it’s driving me crazy. I feel like I’m losing my mind.”

I knelt down to his level, making sure my face looked soft and full of concern

Ididn’t want him to suspect anything, so I made sure to sound calm and gentle

Silas, I promise I’m doing everything I can to help you,I said, my voice steady, but comforting

I’ve been contacting the Alpha King, trying to convince him to lift your punishment

I’m pushing as hard as I can to make things right for you.I paused, giving him a moment to let the words sink in

I could see his eyes searching mine, hoping for some sign of hope

took a deep breath before continuing, my voice more firm now, trying to sound confident

But you have to understand, these things take time,I said, keeping my tone strong. You just have to trust me, Silas. I’m doing all I can to fix this.”

I placed a hand on his shoulder, trying to offer him some comfort

Though his

gaze remained downcast, his shoulders sagging in defeat, I could see the faintest trace of hope flicker in his eyes

He dropped his head into his hands with a deep sigh. I don’t know how much more of this I can take,he whispered, his voice barely audible
