Alpha’s Redemption The Rise of the Rejected Luna 33

Chapter 33

It was a picture of me, a childhood version of me, smiling brightly in what appeared to be the Silver Lake pack’s territory

My heart skipped a beat, but I quickly masked my emotions. That photo was fake. I had fabricated it long ago, knowing full well that Silas would dig into my past

Interesting choice of décor,I said casually, pointing at the photo

Silas leaned back in his chair, his expression unreadable. I wanted to know more about you,he said simply, his tone as steady as his gaze. Your past seemsmysterious.”

aised an eyebrow, keeping my voice light. You could’ve just asked me. Snooping around isn’t very polite, Silas.”

He didn’t flinch at my words. Instead, he leaned forward, his elbows resting on the desk. Then tell me,he said, his voice softer now but no less serious. Who are Joanne and Joey? Why do they look exactly like my daughters?”

His words hit me like a storm, but I didn’t let it show. I had prepared for this moment, yet hearing him say it still unsettled me

I forced a look of shock onto my face, my mouth slightly open as though I couldn’t believe what I was hearing

Your daughters?I asked, my voice trembling just enough to sound believable. Silas, II don’t understand. Joanne and Joey are my children. What are you talking about?”

Silas didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he opened the top drawer of his desk and pulled out a small, worn photograph

He held it out to me, his hand steady but his eyes filled with an emotion I couldn’t quite place

I hesitated for a moment before taking the photo

My breath caught in my throat as I looked at it. It was a family photoSilas, a woman who looked exactly like me, and two little girls who were unmistakably Joanne and Joey

Five

years ago,Silas said, his voice low but firm. This was taken five years ago, when my daughters were still alive

Your daughters are them. I don’t know how, but they are. And I need you to tell me the truth.”

My fingers tightened around the photo as I forced myself to look up at him. Silas, thisthis is impossible,I said, my voice barely above a whisper

You think I don’t know my own children?he snapped, his calm demeanor breaking for the first time

Joanne and Joey have the same birthmarks, the same mannerisms, even the same laugh! Tell me the truth, now.”

The weight of his gaze was unbearable, but I refused to falter. I had spent years perfecting this lie, crafting it so intricately that not even Silas could

unravel it

I don’t know what you’re trying to say,I replied, shaking my head

Joanne and Joey are mine. I carried them, raised them. They’ve never been to the Evans estate, let alone been your daughters.”

Silas’s jaw tightened, and he stood, towering over me. Don’t lie to me,he said, his voice colder than I’d ever heard it

I stepped back instinctively, clutching the photo to my chest. I’m not lying,I said firmly, though my heart was racing

Silas stared at me for a long moment, his eyes searching mine as though he could find the truth buried there. Finally, he sighed and turned away, running a hand through his hair

I don’t know what game you’re playing,he muttered, but I will find out. Joanne and Joey are my daughters. I’ll prove it.”

I didn’t respond. There was nothing I could say that would change his mind

After a moment, Silas sat back down, his expression hardening. Why are you here?he asked, his voice clipped

I blinked, momentarily thrown off by the abrupt change in topic. Then I remembered the proposal in my hands

Chapter 33

I came to discuss a health care project,I said, placing the folder on his desk

Silas glanced at the folder but didn’t open it. I’ll look at it later,he said dismissively

I nodded, understanding that the conversation was over. Without another word, I turned and left his office, my heart pounding in my chest

Once I was outside, I allowed myself to breathe again

The encounter had shaken me, but it had also confirmed something I already knewSilas wasn’t going to stop digging into my past. He was too smart, too determined

As I walked back to my office, I couldn’t help but think about the photo on his desk and the one he had shown me

He was rightJoanne and Joey were his daughters, but he didn’t need to know how

Five years ago, when my name was still Rowena, and I was Silas’s mate, I had lost everything

Silas had betrayed me, and I had died because of him. But I hadn’t stayed dead. I had come back, stronger and smarter, with Joanne and Joey by my

side

The ancient spell I had used to bring them back wasn’t something Silas would understand

To him, they were simply miraclesproof that his daughters had somehow survived

But I knew the truth. And as long as I kept it hidden, I could continue my plan

Lena’s fall from grace was just the beginning. Soon, Silas would realize that his carefully constructed world was unraveling, and by the time he figured out the truth, it would be too late
