I pushed him away, my patience snapping. “Stop it, Silas!” I slapped him hard, the sound echoing in the room. He staggered but didn’t seem to feel it, his drunken haze dulling the impact.
“You’re not staying in my bed tonight,” I muttered, dragging him toward the corner of the room. With one final shove, I let him collapse onto the floor.
For a moment, I stood there, staring down at him.
Memories flooded back–the way he’d once ignored me, abandoned me and our daughters for Lena and her son Billy.

You deserve nothing more,” I whispered, my voice cold. “Not after everything you’ve done.”
I left him there, lying on the floor, and walked out of the hotel without looking back.
The next morning, as I walked into my office, I wasn’t surprised to find Lena waiting for me. Her face was pale with fury, her fists clenched at her
sides.
“You!” she snarled, storming toward me. “You think you can get away with this?”
I raised an eyebrow. “Good morning, Lena. To what do I owe the pleasure?”
“Don’t play dumb!” she shouted, her voice echoing through the room.
Several employees peeked out from their cubicles, drawn by the commotion. “You left your card at the bar! You were with Silas all night!”
I crossed my arms, feigning confusion. “And?”
“And you’re a homewrecker!” she screamed. “You’ve been seducing him, haven’t you? Trying to ruin my life!”
I tilted my head, pretending to consider her words. “Lena, if Silas chooses to spend his time with me, isn’t that more about your relationship than
mine?”
Her face turned red, her anger boiling over. “You’re nothing but a third party! A manipulative-”
I stood in the office, calm and collected, as Lena stormed in.
Her expression was a mix of anger and desperation, and I could tell she was barely holding herself together.
But I wasn’t about to back down, not today.
“Lena,” I began, my tone steady and deliberate, “as Luna, don’t you think it’s your responsibility to notice when Silas is upset? Or were you too busy with something else to even care about his mood?”
Her eyes widened slightly at my words, and I could see the shock ripple through her. “What are you implying, Lorelei?” she snapped, her voice sharp.
I stayed calm and didn’t react to her anger. “I’m just saying that Silas came to me when he was upset.
Do you even know where he was last night, Lena?” I paused for a moment, watching her expression change.
“He was with me, sharing how he felt and trying to forget his troubles with a few drinks. Do you know why? Because you weren’t there for him when
he needed you the most.”
I let my words hang in the air, watching as they sank in. “He had no one else to turn to, Lena. Shouldn’t that bother you as his Luna?”
She stiffened, her hands clenching into fists at her sides. “That’s ridiculous.
Silas doesn’t need to confide in you,” she said, her voice trembling slightly.
“Really?” I said, arching an eyebrow. “Then why was he at my side instead of yours?”
Her face turned red with anger, but before she could respond, I added, “And by the way, you owe me money for the drinks.

Silas and racked up quite a bill last night, and since it was your negligence that drove him there, it’s only fair that you cover it.”
Lena let out a cold laugh, shaking her head. “You’re unbelievable. Asking me for money over something so small? How petty can you be, Lorelem?
I shrugged, giving her a sweet but fake smile. “Well, if it’s such a small amount, it shouldn’t be a problem for you, right?”
With a haughty look, she pulled out her wallet, clearly intending to throw some cash at me to make her point.
But when she opened it, her confidence shattered. Her wallet was completely empty.
I couldn’t stop the grin that spread across my face. “Oh, that’s unfortunate,” I said, my voice dripping with mock concern.
“No money left? How embarrassing for someone who calls themselves Luna.”
erface twisted with frustration as she fumbled with her empty wallet. “This…. this doesn’t mean anything,” she muttered, but her voice lacked its usal strength.
“Oh, I think it means quite a lot,” I replied. “Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I took the health care business away from you.
You know, the only thing you had that actually brought in money. Without it, you’re completely penniless, aren’t you?”
Lena’s eyes flashed with fury, but she couldn’t deny it.
“And here you are,” I continued, my tone casual, “pretending to be so generous, acting like you’re above me, when you can’t even pay for a round of drinks. It’s pathetic, really.”
Some of my employees, who had been quietly working nearby, couldn’t hold back their laughter.
A few of them tried to cover their mouths or look away, but the sound of their snickering still slipped out.
It was enough to catch Lena’s attention. She looked around, noticing the amused faces and whispering among them.
Her face turned bright red, and her hands clenched into fists.
I could see her trembling with anger, her humiliation growing worse with every passing second.
