Rowena POV:
I leaned back in my chair, a slow smile spreading across my face as I watched Lena being chased away by the security guards. There was something deeply satisfying about seeing her humiliated, the look of shock and anger on her face as she was escorted out.
She was used to power, to control, but not today, Not with me. This was only the beginning. I had waited three years for this moment, and I wasert about to let her off the hook so easily.

He wasn’t entirely convinced, but he trusted me. Branwen had always been protective, and while I appreciated it, I knew how to handle myself. I had prepared meticulously for every possible scenario,
The thought of Lena scrambling to figure out my next move made me grin. She had no idea what was coming.
Branwen gave me a long look before sighing. “Ill order an increase in security just in case. Don’t take any unnecessary risks, Lorelei. You know how dangerous she can be when cornered.”
I nodded, watching as he left, his presence always reassuring but not essential for what I was planning next.
Alone in my office, I sat at my desk and allowed myself to indulge in the memory of Lena’s shocked face, the disbelief that had twisted her features when she realized she was being thrown out like some unimportant trespasser.
That was just the first blow. I had much more in store for her.
Lena was clever, though. I knew exactly what her next move would be. She would try to keep Silas away from me.
She knew that seeing my face–the face of Rowena, the woman he had never truly let go of–would send him into a spiral of confusion, perhaps even attraction. What she didn’t know was that Silas and I had met long before this day.
I was already someone significant in his life, far more important than Lena could ever imagine.
A slow chuckle escaped my lips. Lena was likely panicking at this very moment, planning how to keep Silas from crossing paths with me.
But it was too late for her. She was fighting a battle she had no chance of winning.
It was time for the next phase of my plan. I picked up my phone and dialed Silas’s number. It rang a few times before he answered, his voice sounding tired.
“Lorelei,” he greeted me, the sound of my name on his lips sending a small thrill through me. “I just finished a meeting. What’s up?”
“You sound exhausted,” I remarked. “Have you eaten anything?”
There was a pause before he admitted, “No, not yet. I’ve been tied up in back–to–back meetings all day.”
I smiled to myself. Perfect. “Wait for me, Silas. I’ll bring you something to eat. You need to take care of yourself.”
He sounded surprised, though there was a note of warmth in his voice. “You don’t have to do that, Lorelei.”
“Don’t be ridiculous,” I replied lightly. “I’ll be there in an hour.”
As I hung up, I could practically hear the smile in his voice. Silas had always been weak to kindness, and I knew exactly how to play that card.
