Alpha’s Redemption The Rise of the Rejected Luna 15

Chapter 15

But thanks to Branwen and the precious herbs he’d used on me after my rescue, those ugly scars were long gone

Without giving Silas more time to examine me, I jumped into the water, the cool liquid instantly soothing my nerves, and as I moved effortlesdy through the water, I felt a sense of peace wash over me

Silas, who had been watching me closely, seemed surprised. He dove in after me, swimming beside me as he said, You’re an incredible swimmer, Lorelei. I didn’t know you were this good.”

1 smiled, feeling a small flicker of pride. Branwen taught me when I was very young,I explained. I guess I just got the hang of it”

t he wouldn’t know that I only learnt to swim within the last three years of being away from him

Silas admired me openly, his usual smirk replaced by something softer. I see, Well, you’re definitely better than I expected, I thought you would be little more hesitant to it.”

After all, once upon a time Rowena was afraid of water, alone jumping in and swimming

We swam together for a while, the water around us calm and clear. It was peaceful, and for a brief moment, I almost forgot about the complicated situation I found myself in with Silas. But, of course, peace never lasted long in my life

After a while, Silas grinned and suggested something more daring

How about we swim by the cliff’s edge?he said. The current is stronger thereit’s more exciting.”

I hesitated, glancing toward the edge of the pool where the water flowed more rapidly. Isn’t that dangerous?I asked, my voice betraying my uncertainty

Silas laughed, a confident glint in his eye. Dangerous? Come on, we’re werewolves! If things get bad, well just transform, no problem. And I promise, I’ll protect you.”

There was something so casual in the way he said it, as if danger was nothing more than a game. But despite my instincts telling me to refuse, I found myself agreeing once again

We swam toward the cliff, the water growing more turbulent as we neared the edge

The sunlight glistened off the water, making the entire scene look almost magical. Silas seemed completely at ease, as though he’d done this a hundred times before

This is amazing, right?he called out to me, his voice barely audible over the rush of the water

I nodded, though I wasn’t as sure as he was. Before I could respond, I felt something sharp slice across my leg. I gasped in pain and glanced down to see a small cut where a stone had grazed me

Silas!I shouted, my voice filled with panic as the current suddenly became much stronger, pulling me toward the edge of the cliff

I struggled to keep my head above water, but it was uselessI was being swept away

Silas, help me!I screamed, reaching out for him. He was closeso closebut instead of grabbing my hand, he hesitated

I stared at him in disbelief as he stood still, watching me with a conflicted expression. I realized then that this was a test. He wanted to see if I would transform. He wanted to know if I was Rowena

But I couldn’t transformnot here, not in front of him. I was a white wolf, and showing my true form would reveal everything

Silas!I shouted again, my hand still outstretched. But he didn’t move

In that moment, I realized that he was more interested in uncovering the truth than saving me

As I stood at the edge of the cliff, my body trembled. The familiar sensation of my bones wanting to shift, the pull of my wolf side, surged through me

It would have been so easy to let go, to transform and escape this precarious situation. But I couldn’t. Not now. Not with Silas watching. I couldn’t let him confirm his suspicions

Chapter 15

My eyes were ghed to Silas as I tried to gauge his next move

He seemed uncertain as though debating whether to help me or let fate take its course. Was this really a test? Would he go so far as to see me dead ast to see what I’d do

Finally, I saw a flash of panic in his eyes. Good. It was about time he showed some sign of humanity

He transformed into a wolf and started rushing toward me, but the water was faster

The current dragged me toward the edge, and my heart raced as I teetered on the brink of disaster. For a split second, I thought this might be it

Just as I was about to fall, a silver shadow appeared

vas? Silas, it was someone else. He was faster than I thought he would be
