“Jane.” I frowned, watching as her wolf form stopped before me.
“At your service.” There was a hint of pride in her voice.
I stared at her with a look of annoyance. “How did you get into the Alpha Palace?”
Jane scoffed, not the slightest bit intimidated by my look or the tone of my voice. If it was any other person, I would have given them a piece of my mind, but Jane had a way of getting past all of that.
There was an electronic device in her mouth as she spoke. “Wasn’t so hard. This place needs a better security system.”
out a frustrated groan before shaking my head. “So why are you here?”
“Just to set a couple of things straight.” She grinned. “Nice room by the way.”
I rolled my eyes, folding my arms as I waited for her to go on: After she had finished sizing up the room to her satisfaction, she began to speak again.
“Are you going to marry this man a second time?”
I leaned my head to the side. “Are you really going to marry this man a second time?”
I stared at her with an amused look on my face. “That’s why you came here? To ask me that? And what are you even talking about?”
“Boss, you can’t tell me your seriously about to go through with this. Your last mate relationship isn’t even fully resolved yet. Multiple relationships could be punished by the moon god. This is not something to joke around with.”
“What are you going on about? For the love of the goddess, just tell me clearly what the matter is.”
It was hard to miss the hint of panic in her voice. My eyes narrowed on her, wondering what she could be getting at.
Jane’s wolf form turned to look at the I turned to the TV that had been quietly playing out in the background all through.
The first thing I laid eyes on was a blurry photo of me and Quentin back at the restaurant. We were simply sharing a drink but the caption read
otherwise.
I turned to Jane who was staring at me pointedly. “Oh, come on. It was just a normal outing with a friend. Plus, it ended up taking an unpleasant tuber to the point where I even slapped him.”
Jane hummed, though she didn’t look satisfied just yet. Her eyes flickered to the TV for a brief second before she finally turned back to me.
“I actually think Haelor is the most suitable for you.”
I glared at her. “Do not even go there.”
“Come on,” Jane argued. “Just think about it. The Alpha General and the savage Alpha Princess. Has a pretty nice ring to it if you ask me.”
“Why not shift and come say that to my face?” I glared at her even more.
“Oh please,” she scoffed. “You’re just jealous because you can’t turn into a wolf yourself.”
I rolled my eyes, wondering if I should argue with her. She still had no clue that Olavir already has a solution ready for the problem.
There was no point in explaining that to Jane though. She would just have to wait and see the results for herself. I could already imagine the look of shock she’d get when I finally shifted into wolf form before her.
Until then, I’d leave her to whatever assumptions she had in her head.
My mind went back to Haelor who was still out in the field. I couldn’t help but wonder if his job was going well, if he was fine and how he was doing.
It had been quite some time since we last spoke and I hadn’t gotten to see him in a long while. I pushed all those thoughts out of my head and I tried to steel my focus.

“I’m going to need your help with something.” I started,
“Whatever it is you want, boss. Just name it.” Jane answered excitedly.
“It’s about Quentin.” I ignored how her mood soured once I mentioned his name. “I’m going to need you to give him a piece of my mind. It’s high time I got some pay back for that stunt he pulled.”
