Then the officers played the school’s security footage. Crystal clear video of their mob mentality in action. That shut them up fast.
The consequences came dom hard and precise. Each person would pay according to their participation.
Some called their husbands in tears, scrambling to liquidate assets and empty retirement accounts to stay out of jail. They left broken but free.
Others found their marriages couldn’t
Those who couldn’t pay: faced arrest.
hley bore the heaviest burden.
vive the scandal. Their husbands sent divorce papers instead of help.
She’d caused the most damage, encouraged the most violence.
Her share of the debt was crushing. In desperation, she turned to Jack.
“Please, Jack! Help me,
for Tyler’s sake! I could never pay this off in ten lifetimes!”
“What happens to our son if I go to prison?”
Tears streaked her expensive makeup as she begged.
Jack hesitated, then tried appealing to me. “Honey, maybe we could be lenient? For old times‘ sake?”
I met his
eyes with glacial contempt. “Seriously? You think you have
oht to ask me for mercy?”
“The thought of our years together makes me sick now. Every moment was a lie.”
“The divorce papers are ready. We’re done.”
I turned to the officer. “Add charges for Ashley encouraging her son to torture my daughter. Don’t forget the wire incident.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
I walked out without another glance. I don’t care what happens after that. In any case, those stupid parents are either kicked out of the house by their husbands and become beggars on the streets, or they work hard all their lives to pay off their debts.
Over the next few days, I continued to take the moon potion while I recuperated. Olavir spent most of his time with me, trying to cheer me up and make me happy. I really appreciated what he was doing for me. He was spending so much time just for me.
My body was slowly regaining its strength. It didn’t feel like the moon potion’s warmth that coursed through most of my body. This feeling was like a cool balm washing over every single part of my body.
But I’ve noticed that I seem to be having some physical problems, such as my inability to turn into a wolf. I think it’s just a temporary symptom due to the period of recovery from a recent injury.
I kept this to myself though. There was no way I could tell anyone just yet. Not until I was sure at least.
